From: KamikazePotato | #1207 Frog/Magus vs. the vampires could be interesting if CT gets the right pics. Unfortunately this multiple pic thing hurts them I think. I'd take the Frog/Magus from last round to get 47% on the vampires - but with the right pic I could see them barely winning. Match XLVIII: (3) Dante/Vergil vs. (2) Sora/Riku Previous Round Dante/Vergil – 82.59% Sol Badguy/Ky Kiske – 17.41% Sora/Riku – 60.21% William Blazkowicz/Adolf Hitler – 39.79% Analysis The debate for this match has seemed to increase as we came closer to the match. Most of the debates seemed to have arisen since their first round matches and given the types of characters I’m not sure why people felt that there should be more hype about the match, though before round 1 the match wasn’t getting the talk it deserved so I guess it balances out. Sol and Ky were always going to be one of the weakest characters in the bracket and you can’t really blame Sora and Riku for doing badly due to joke votes from both GameFAQs and rallies from other sites. A match between Sora and Dante individually would be interesting, but I feel Sora would be able to take it. While he has taken a drop recently Sora’s performance against Bowser was still good enough to place him at or above the company of Dante. Of course that matched happened almost two years ago and it wouldn’t be a stretch to argue that Sora could have taken another drop since then due to Kingdom Hearts being no longer in the limelight, but at the same time Sora could be in a plateau like several other characters are when they haven’t had a game in years. As for their partners Riku would have no problem against Vergil even considering Riku’s drop as Vergil has shown in the past to be nothing more than fodder. Of course Dante and Vergil have the better rivalry; however Sora and Riku are far from bad and would probably out-rival a large portion of the bracket. Rivalries seem to only offer large boosts in the more extreme cases which I don’t see Dante and Vergil being. While I feel the match would be close I never felt that Sora and Riku would lose this match. Winning a close match would be good for Dante in order to get rid of the choking reputation that he seems to be building. Really
considering making the leap to Dante but I can't quite pull the
trigger...I just don't see him getting 45% on Bowser and Riku is
probably stronger than Vergil. On the other hand, I'm not a perfect battler and I'll need an upset to happen just to have a chance, so maybe making the leap is a good strategic choice here. - I made a change to the links to the graphs. Now, at the bottom,
there's a link where you can switch between 15 minute and 60 second

Perfect
battle and regular bracket. I got Dante in regular bracket, and
currently banked, but probably going to pick in next hour. Should I
really be worried about my Dante pick? I picked him without much thought
mostly because of my DMC fanboyism, I better not fall off the
leaderboard 2 contests in a row because of it (ala Melee>Brawl). --- I liek milk |
Out of all of those, only Red/Ryu looks interesting. Mario/Sonic is interesting because we've somehow never seen Mario/Sonic in 9 years of contests. Link/MM and Cloud/Snake are interesting because they are Noble Niner matches, but even more importantly because they will let us gauge the strengths of Link/Ganon and Cloud/Seph in anticipation for the biggest match of the contest (Link vs. Cloud). Frog/Alucard is interesting because Frog is going to win! will definitely beat MM down harder, because Snake > MM, Liquid >
Wily, the Snakes probably have a better rivalry, and because Link SFF'd
MM the last time they met in 2004. But the extent of the margin will
give us good information on what to expect in Link/Cloud. I'd say Link
wants at least a doubling to avoid looking bad, and Cloud is looking for

kinds of trends does Dante typically have, anyway? He feels like more
of a night guy but I'm not 100% sure. I hope he is, since then he could
take a lead over night and Sora can use his day vote to try to come

point was more that Dante generally rises the whole match. His early
vote is bad enough for that against anyone that isn't FF7 (Kratos might

Dante
should be stronger than last year. He's had MvC3 since then, as has
Vergil. If Ryu and Dante faced now, I'd give Dante the advantage. Ryu
was also in that, but anyone who played that game already knew Ryu from
previous Capcom fighting games, but it introduced Dante to a new
