Hmm I think Phoenix/Edgeworth are a stronger pair than Raiden/Vamp so this is a good performance by the vampires, but on the other hand we all know that Chrono Trigger sucks in daymatches so Frog/Magus should be a lot stronger in 24 hour matches.

Phoenix is still going 50/50 in Europe and Asia (he's also winning quite comfortably in Oceania). Ultimate night character indeed.

That said, however, he has held up very well during this ASV.

It seems the vampires will finish above 55%.So the first real close match will be the next one.I believe CT can do it.

Yes, always have faith in Chrono Trigger for pulling close matches out of its ass.

In all likelihood the CT match probably will be the first under 55%.

Well MGS has a bad day vote too so that might cancel out.

We had two MGS/CT matches this year, and MGS outdid it with the ASV both times, though it wasn't by any significant margin. Still, Chell/GlaDOS ought to be night oriented as well.

Yup, Phoenix may have worst day vote locked down now that he's lost it to both Magus and Alucard.

Phoenix easily lost the morning vote to Alucard, although he is losing the ASV to Alucard by a slight amount. Alucard had just slightly under 56% in the US when the morning vote kicked in, and ended up around 59% by the ASV.

If you've played the PS1 or DS port, it's pretty easy to identify. But either way, CT sprites of the battle with Magus from the game is about as good of a picture as they can hope for here.

Still a solid pic though.

Agreed. The sprite pic in the middle is absolutely epic and perfect, but it doesn't stand out enough. And Frog's face looks like a green blob. So I have mixed feelings on this pic.

In the end I'd say it's a neutral pic for both sides.

The picture does make me feel better about Frog/Magus winning tomorrow (it's amazing!). If pics are even significant, they'll need a more sprite-centered pick to have a shot against Alucardracula next round.

I gotta believe Phoenix's team is stronger than Raiden/Vamp.... if not, Shepard and his rival make one WEAK pairing!

Speaking of Alucard/Dracula's day vote, I wager that Dracula is causing a drastic improvement to Alucard in that. (if nobody said this already)

Match XLIV: (3) Chell/GlaDOS vs. (2) Frog/Magus

Previous Round

Chell/GlaDOS – 59.07%
Ness/Giygas – 40.93%

Frog/Magus – 56.13%
Raiden/Vamp – 43.87%

Analysis

I wasn’t overly impressed with either performance last round, but to me that plays out better for Frog and Magus since Chell and GlaDOS needed to impress for me to believe that they would have a chance in this match. While this match won’t be a blowout at the same time I don’t see Frog and Magus losing this match.

Unsurprisingly free Portal and the release of Portal 2 gave GlaDOS a nice boost in strength where she and Chell were able to defeat Ness and Giygas without too much of an issue. However Frog and Magus would have no problems defeating Ness by themselves, heck Raiden would have easily taken out Ness and I would probably take Vamp over Giygas.

GlaDOS and Chell had a long way to go to match Frog and Magus and last round didn’t show that they were capable of doing that. Frog and Magus may not have looked that good against Raiden and Vamp, but I feel that it was good enough to show that they have some strength, though they are going to have to pull something special if they want to win the division next round.

charmander6000’s Bracket: Frog/Magus > Chell/GlaDOS

charmander6000’s Prediction: Frog/Magus wins, 55.27% - 44.73%

This makes me like their chances better...if they can get a pure sprite pic - no artwork whatsoever, just sprites - they'd be stronger than normal IMO.

Actually I was reading a game magazine which was talking about OoT, and it had a picture of Sheik captioned "Who is this mysterious figure?" or something like that. And my immediate reaction was "Zelda". I mean you figure it's someone important, and the series only really has three important characters! :) And it surely wasn't Link or Ganon.

So by the time I played the game, it was clear. However that in no way reduces the awesomeness of the game itself. As stated above, it's not a story oriented game - it's a boss-fight oriented game.
