I'm
sure the board voted their brackets and in support of the rivalry that
they want to take down Cloud/Seph, especially judging from how Snake

Assuming
we don't get an upset in R2, we should still be well under 100. I also
expect to see people play things much more casually during R3. There are

vs. Crono and ignoring the others. this is why I could never pull the
trigger on Cloud over Link... that will play out exactly the same as a

must really have it out for Crono. First feeding him to Sephiroth in
round 3 and now this. Granted, Missingno stopped that match from ever
happening, but the point is Crono has had no hope of advancing even
moderately deep in the bracket since his finals appearance in 2008. How much of an advantage does the Solid/Liquid rivalry give over Crono/Lavos? If Crono can hold above 40% here, I'd say that augurs pretty well for him being able to break 45% on Snake 1v1. I'd be pretty satisfied with that as long as Snake is still the force we've seen in recent years. --- 90s games > 00s games |

I'm impressed by Crono here, he's keeping it respectable. This isn't
that bad. Snake maybe rises to 61%ish with the ASV, while he's not that
great with the ASV it is Chrono Trigger he's facing. Think the pic might be helping a slight bit, that's about as good a pic for Lavos as you could hope for. But given the performance of Crono vs. Lavos' vote-in opponents this match could have been much worse. Apparently the vote-in luckily wasn't indicative of their strength. still disappointed we didn't get a Crono/Magus pairing up. Yeah yeah,
Frog is a better rivalry for Magus, but Crono could have actually won

result looks poor for Snake because it shows that he would lose to the
MK ninjas if you extrapolate through Leon Kennedy in the vote-in poll.
Right now, Snake/Liquid only has 65.45% on Leon/Ada and the MK ninjas
got over 73%. No one on the board would have taken that upset in their

Nah, 58% is about what I'd expect Snake to get on him these days. Well, 55-56% is what I expected, and I'd say this match supports that figure more! Crono/Magus is what I nominated too. Pretty confident now that would have been the strongest CT rivalry by a good margin. Personally, I think it's even a better rivalry artistically than Frog/Magus- Crono and Magus are thrown into very similar circumstances if you think about it, and react very differently. --- 90s games > 00s games |

requires lots of overanalysis to build up. Magus vs. Lavos is the best
