Oddly the -1s do quite badly and the prediction percentage actually starts improving as you go down the tiers. The -7s (8 points) actually end up doing better than the perfects although there were only 240 of them. For the most part, the 0 brackets knew what they were doing. Only 2 of the 24 fell on this match. The Top 50 didn't do as well as the perfects in general did. 24 people fell off the Top 50. If
you wanna see whether the vote factor is either "which side has the
stronger characters" or "better rivalry > not-so-better rivalry" then
just do a match at the end being Cloud vs. Mario against Link vs.
Ganondorf. Cloud and Mario has absolutely nothing to do with each other (being in a video game context)
so zero rivalry there. And Link vs. Ganondorf obviously has a decent
enough rivalry going on and commonly known among most gamers. The main
three characters of subject are all of "similar" tier in terms of
strength. Ganon being the odd one out obviously, but shouldn't matter if
people are voting rivalry sake. But if Cloud/Mario wins we know its
people looking at all 4 characters and picking the side with 2
characters favoring over the other 2. In my opinion I think it's more about the strength of the 2 characters rather than the rivalry factor between the two characters. Only by an assumption that more gamers would be more likely to know all 128 characters in the contest by appearance, word of mouth, or brief summaries rather than the full informed history behind each character to weight in the overall rivalry factor among playing all of the full games of said characters and many different games if a franchise of said characters. --- ------ --------- |

realize that people will vote for a legit rivalry over the top option.
