Wow,
already over 60%. That board vote was something else, especially since
Nintendo picked up all the first vote people. After that barrage, I
think it was 50-50 for a minute or two. Man, I can just imagine Cloud winning the freeze against Link. That'd be the day. --- Yoblazer: http://i33.tinypic.com/ml36gl_th.gif Watch and you'll see... someday I'll be... part of your world! |

goofed with taking Phoenix so far. But Frog/Magus has a great shot at

think
the point is that Cortex is more iconic and valid than multi-coloured
layerless "enemy" symbols that are the ghosts. He has a background,
ideals and motivation. There's "something" going on in the rivalry at
least. No, "iconic" and "quality" are not the same. Cortex is not more iconic than a Pac-man ghost no matter how much they lack character. Simply being in Pac-Man is what helps them. While Crash is (or was?) an icon, Cortex could not join him in that same light. Having motivation and background surely won't be enough if nobody on the site cares about Crash games or their stories. And I'm surely not banking on GameFAQs to care about the background of old platforming games. They barely care about the main characters as it is. --- *is Dranze* I lost my girl and lost to Black Turtle. Can't get worse. |
Hey
I just got an idea for a contest. What if the votes for each character
where weighted based on the country the vote came from? The weights
would be by actual population. Basically, votes from countries that are overrrepresented on gameFAQs compared to real life, be they big or small (The US, the Netherlands), would count for less than votes from countries that are underrepresented compared to real life, again regardless of size (China, Laos) For example, imagine a match between Link and Squall where all the votes came from either China or the US. In the US, Link is leading by 70% to 30%. In China, Squall is leading 60 to 40%. Thus the result displayed is 54.3% in Squall's favour (as per wikipedia's population estimates, which gives China about an 80% weight if only the US is also involved). It could be a sort of "world" contest or something. Would shake things up a bit, right? In general, I'd say it's a terrible idea to use this system for all the contests (or even the main contest) but I think it could be fun for a smaller side contest. --- Do not pray for easier lives. The
ASV has been more or less non-existent in 12 hour day matches, as in we

I can just imagine Cloud winning the freeze against Link. Maybe not the freeze, but the 1 minute mark seems very possible. No
kidding. I was like, "how did Luigi end up with 55%?" when he was
higher than that before the ASV! Even though it's true Luigi is
relatively night-oriented as a Nintendo character, a lack of clear ASV
seems to be better. Maybe it's because all the GameFAQs users graduated
high school now? Have there been any "new" voting trends lately? MarioSuperStar: Today's match definitely makes Tidus/Jecht look grim. How much stronger could they be than Yuna/Seymour? Fox/Wolf would beat Big Boss/The Boss by a narrow margin, at best, I think. Hey I just got an idea for a contest. I had Tidus/Jecht for the longest time but then I backed out the night before the contest. Still think there's a decent chance, but I'm pretty sure the bosses have it. |
Yeah
Tidus/Jecht is way stronger in relation to Yuna/Seymour. Ofcourse it's
been eons since I played FFX and I dunno how other players feel, but I
don't even recall much of Yuna's/Seymour's progression because it was so
bland. I might end up banking that match because it is the first one I'm genuinely shocked by other's opinions/responses in BigBoss/TheBoss winning that fight. I figured tidus/jecht would have it np. --- ------ --------- |
I blame the format for the weak ASV. A) The match starts during the DSV so the jump is going to be a lot lower.
