guess we'll just agree to disagree then. The fact that no one disputed

like this - THIS - is why people still hate stats. There are people who
simply refuse to "agree to disagree" and leave something alone

I think reasoning is dumb, I'm probably going to tell you it is. You
should be able to handle an idea being criticized like that. That
doesn't mean someone else won't read what you're saying and find it

talking about AN EXTREMELY SMALL DIFFERENCE HERE. Tenths or hundredths
of a percent, but in a match that can go either way, I'll TAKE WHAT I
CAN GET. And my reasoning obviously isn't dumb, since no one will even talk about Dante/Steve. Last
time we saw Ezio, I think he only had ACII to his name, so things have
definitely improved for him since then. It probably helps that

Yeah, Brotherhood hadn't come out yet when Ezio made his contest debut. Although the issue isn't really whether Ezio beats DK 1-on-1. I'm confident he does. The issue is what impact adding K. Rodrigo
is why I picked DK in my bracket. I don't think K. Rool adds much on
his own, but it might bring back memories of DKC for some people.
Rodrigo is whatever, if not possibly a negative addition to Ezio's
popularity, so that ended up with me figuring DK > Ezio. --- peace comes from within |

He's
the main antagonist in AC2, and has a bit role in Brotherhood. He's not
likable on his own, nor is he particularly standout in either game.

Personally I'm still in the "Rivalry Matters doesn't exist" group until something proves otherwise. I still think people are voting for their favourite game/character. I'm undecided between whether the rivalry matters or whether it's simply a cumulative thing. The Mario-Bowser and X-Zero results are pretty unlikely as 1v1's like X / Falcon or Mario / Jim so I think something else is at work beyond just favorite (singular) character. --- "Getting lucky 100% of the time... it's called PRO SKILL." -BlAcK TuRtLe |

they probably keep his name a secret in order to maintain the plot
twist for who he becomes at the end of the game, in case there are some

Match VII: (3) Donkey Kong/King K. Rool vs. (6) Ezio Auditore da Firenze/Rodrigo Borgia Previous Contest Donkey Kong – 2010 43.71% against Vivi Orntier King K. Rool – N/A N/A Ezio Auditore da Firenze – 2010 59.71% against Simon Belmont 37.89% against Zelda Rodrigo Borgia – N/A N/A Analysis First match of the contest where the winner is debatable. If we ever had the pleasure of getting a second villains contest King K. Rool would have been among my most wanted new villains to reach the contest. While according to the board and my bracket Donkey Kong should win I feel a lot of people did not consider Ezio well enough for the upset. Going by their performance last year against Vivi and Zelda it would seem that the two would rank closely with each other, but a lot has happened since that contest. First Donkey Kong has received a true new game in Donkey Kong Country Returns where even the people that disliked the Wii give it some respect while Ezio has received Brotherhood and has Revelations coming out in just over a week. While I feel Donkey Kong will get a boost Ezio could range from almost nothing to becoming a new character. New games tend to make a character more relevant and add new fans, however considering Assassin’s Creed II was only two months old at the time of the last contest I don’t think Assassin’s Creed is any more relevant today than it was last contest, if fact for the last two years fans have either been hyping for a new game or loving the release of the new game. As for new fans while Ezio as a character probably didn’t change the minds of existing fans in Brotherhood it would be crazy to claim that everyone that bought Brotherhood also owned Assassin’s Creed II. There’s probably a very large overlap, but it isn’t a complete overlap. A match between Rool and Rodrigo would probably go Rool’s way on GameFAQs, but the amount of overlap and considering how weak they are overall probably suggests that neither character is going to add much in terms of overall strength. In terms of rivalry factor I would have to give it to Donkey Kong and King K. Rool, due to nostalgia though looking at the strengths of the Donkey Kong Country games do make me worry, however both games had to face Nintendo opposition so we don’t know their true strength. Either way their rivalry isn’t touching what Mega Man X and Zero have. Nintendo and old characters have looked pretty decent so far, but this is the first time where they are being seriously challenged. Donkey Kong gets the advantage of this being a night match, but with daylight savings time coming to an end Ezio and Rodrigo will have an extra hour to try and use the morning vote to their advantage. Donkey Kong has a history of choking winnable matches hopefully this won’t be one of them. charmander6000’s Bracket: Donkey Kong/King K.
