Lightning
is a very well liked character in what was a trashy game. Would imagine
that lends itself to a fairly light supporter base which wouldn't

On one hand, her rival likely brought her down (which we've seen with Captain Falcon's rivalry). On the other hand, they lost hard to Yuna's rivalry (which suffers from a similar issue), and Yuna may not have ever been able to do as well on Sonic as Lightning did pre-FF13. Either way, she went from advancing past a vote-in Missingno won before getting 36.14% on Sonic...to getting last place in a vote-in Raiden/Vamp won. That's a humongous difference. Do you blame the rival or the game here? Captain Falcon has SSB. Lightning has Dissidia 012. Sadly, I'm not sure I would take Lightning over Captain Falcon in a 1v1 matchup, as it is. --- PSN - Aevio BlackMageJawa - "I'm on a Goomba." |

I'm not sure if SFF should apply, at least without saying her release made her more SFF'able: http://www.gamefaqs.com/poll/index.html?poll=3691 Lightning was able to keep within a percent of Axel without a game. Yuna also hasn't proven to be notable with SFF; she may be respectable indirectly, but she was fifth out of the cast of seven in the FFX-poll and 41% on Zack Fair doesn't suggest she has much SFF-power. Seymour made her weaker here too, so I don't think Yuna/Seymour easily doubling Lightning's rivalry can be so easily attributed to SFF. wanted to, solely because I'll forever trust Snake for taking down
Sephiroth 1v1. But its Liquid that feels like the weak link in the
chain. The way I see it, you have 2 powerhouses against 1 powerhouse and

Would Guybrush lose to Firion/Emperor? Only if Firion/Emperor were given good pics....even then it might take a picture that clearly shows they're from a Final Fantasy game, though that might be hard to do. I feel Bartz/Gilgamesh is a little underrated here. I mean, yeah, Guybrush is still as weak as ever, but if Team FFV did a little better than expected, I'll attribute that to the picture, mainly. And we might not be giving Gilgamesh enough credit. So I'm wondering, how many chose the Twin Snakes over the FF7 duo? You're not alone. It's a better upset pick than Sonic over Mario, at least. I'm not too hyped for tonight's match. DK on a weekend night-match is probably his best time. Or at least compared to Ezio/(who?). I'll make a bold prediction and say that DK is going to break 60%. Obviously
FF2 is more obscure than FF5, but how much so? I've always received the
impression that FF5 is one if the less played games with the masses for
a number of reasons. The game also isn't particularly story driven, so
I'm wondering how much strength Bartz has based on Dissidia. If it's most of his strength (as I assume), then I'm thinking Firion would win too. Firion is a lot more interesting than Bartz in that game too. --- :> |

Does Dante stand on even ground with Yoshi and Ryu if his name is Steve? Someone
commented on the vast differences of the continents and that we could
have a different results in some matches so I decided to make each of
the five listed continents equal and take a look at the percentage. The
format is... Winning Pair - Original Score - Adjusted Score Mario/Bowser - 85.36% - 84.20% Ike/Black Knight - 59.42% - 60.86% Kirby/Meta Knight - 58.47% - 50.69% Sonic/Dr. Robotnik - 73.12% - 68.75% Mega Man X/Zero - 80.45% - 80.78% Bartz/Gilgamesh - 63.93% - 61.80% Some comments, Ike/Black Knight lose in Oceania, but crushed in South America and Asia. Kirby/Meta Knight only won 2/5 continents with Oceania giving them enough support to squeak the win. Sonic/Dr. Robotnik only had 58% in Asia. In Europe and Oceania Mega Man X/Zero were below 70%, but in South America and Asia they were above 90%. don't know what you're getting at here. "Ezio" is a unique name, the
"Auditore da Firenze" part of his name is said repeatedly in the game
(unlike with Altair), and it's immediately recognizable as Italian,
which is more familiar to this site's Western-centric audience. Altair
isn't 'cooler' because his name is shorter; I don't even know how you

I'm
simply of the opinion that everything and anything can affect a match's
percentages, from the picture, to game releases, to the names by the
voting options. This is especially the case with characters who (are
perceived to) draw more of their popularity from things other than the
strength of their games. And in this case, I think Ezio's long and kinda strange name might cost him a TINY bit (and I mean tiny bit) of that appeal. Come on, wouldn't he do a little bit better if his name was Ezio the Impaler or Ezio of the Thousand Blades or something? no. Ezio's percentage might be affected by a minute fraction, but
nothing that you could consider notable. Ezio will do the same with or

Auditore da Firenze sounds like a cool enough name to me. Even if it
made a slight difference, I'm not sure I'd necessarily say it's a less
