I
think most people around here expected the actual rivalries to have
some kind of effect. It's one of the reasons Cloud/Seph have more
support against Link than anyone usually does, and why the Pokemon
Trainers have the edge against Luigi. Also, Dante/Vergil as #3 is admitted fanboyism, right? Nothing wrong that fanboyism, but you can't honestly believe that. Yeah
Raiden vs Vamp might be higher on overall damage because of how much
Vamp drags him down as far as the character sucking. Same with Luigi vs
Waluigi. Mostly I'm just going with reactions like "that's not a
rivalry" or "that's not the best rivalry" or "who cares about that
rivalry" or "I LOVE LINK WHO'S GANONDORF" --- No problem! This is a cute and pop genocide of love! |

The one thing that might hold it back is people who haven't played DMC3 that vote Dante regularly but I imagine that percentage isn't very high. Yeah,
Dante/Vergil is a top tier rivalry. The only thing holding them back is
that it's only prevalent in DMC3, but if you've played that game
before, there's no way you don't vote for them against Kingdom Hearts
kids. I still think KH wins out, but yeah. --- peace comes from within |

I still can't figure out who to bet on for the next contest (Guybrush vs. Bartz). I've never heard of the game Guybrush is from, but since it's the 4-seed and Bartz is a 5-seed... Same thing with Terra vs. Vyse, since FF is popular but there's a lot of nostalgia for Skies of Arcadia. Terra vs Kefka get hurt because there's so much squabbling about who the main character is in FF6 and the ensemble cast thing. I actually think Terra fits better than most of the cast but yeah I don't really think it gets much support. It's more "the party vs Kefka" than Terra and if you're gonna make specific character arguments you could claim Celes or Cyan or Edgar are a better fit. It's not a bad rivalry (well, as good as it can be having Terra in it)... I just think if it's debatable that that's the best rivalry for them they're going to get hurt. --- No problem! Captain Falcon's partner contributes NOTHING, and Falcon himself is a character who only got 25% on Crono back in 2006. And one rivalry here is far superior as a rivalry to the other. --- 90s games > 00s games |
