I
think this is just the format changing the way people vote. It's the
first time we've seen it, so it wouldn't make too much sense for people
to groan "uuggghh, the Mario/Bowser rivalry AGAIN!" Plus, I don't mean
to knock em, but singular characters are pretty much the lowest common
denominator as far as voting options go. There's just not too much to
think about, and they are easier to anti-vote. As you give voters more
to digest, it becomes harder to blindly anti-vote something without
feeling like a putz. I believe it's easier to anti-vote Cloud against

Another
dumb thing worth keeping track of is that Jim/Slug are almost under 4%
in Montana and doing worse than The Oregon Trail did in the UK despite

I've
stuck with Conker/Poo. It's not a pick I'm confident in thanks to FE
doing well enough last year, but Ike with less consideration to SSBB and
Conker with a "classic" villain/joke (instead of his main one from

Logic
to me dictates a separation of Ike from Brawl which black knight will
bring will narrow the gap. If we're speaking purely on Bad Fur day
versus Path of Radiance I know which one I'd take. The whole joke factor
of Poo is a bit overblown, Ike is favourite but its a 55/45 game in my
view. Its an attractive upset pick, if you want to win the contest
you've gotta go for one or two of these; a couple of them always pay

It
can't be said enough that jokes have to be from things people care
about in order for them to get votes. Weighted Companion Cube, L-Block,
and Missingno all have something in common that separates them from the

Match II: (4) Conker/The Great Mighty Poo vs. (5) Ike/Black Knight Previous Contest Conker – 2005 23.98% against Mega Man The Great Mighty Poo – N/A N/A Ike – 2010 62.49% against Prinny 52.56% against Zidane Tribal 25.90% against Mario Black Knight – N/A N/A Analysis One thing that will be common in this contest is the reunion of old characters and the addition of characters that will likely never return. Conker was not only able to return after a six year break, but he was able to return in the top half of the bracket despite not having a new game since the last time we saw him. Meanwhile the Black Knight despite being well liked among Fire Emblem fans will probably never see another contest, even if board 8 tried to rally him. This match surprisingly has gotten some talk though a quick look at the previous results shows Ike with the advantage over Conker. He was able to get a higher percent on Mario despite getting SFF compare to Conker against Mega Man and it’s likely that the last six years were not kind towards Conker. Of course the main talk is about how Conker’s partner is named Poo which should give it some joke votes. While joke votes should be expected the gap between Ike and Conker is just too large to bridge. There is also the argument that due to Ike having a large portion of fans coming from Brawl most of them won’t know the rivalry between Ike and the Black Knight. While true I doubt many Brawl fans have played Conker’s Bad Fur Day in order for them to vote them of their favourite character then you also have to take into account that Conker and The Great Mighty Poo aren’t the best of rivalries and are likely to lose out to voters that have played Path of Radiance or Radiant Dawn. Ike should go on for an easy win. I feel that I’m being conservative with my prediction because Conker was already heading towards a downward spiral in 2005, but Poo should be able to pick up some votes. Well,
there's one good thing about Anti-BlowoutFAQs being over. We might get
to see our first 90% in a long time. Add that to the fact that the Noble
Niner in position to pull off such a performance is going to be chained
through multiple levels of SFF and should end up with a so-so

don't think anti-blowoutFAQs ever occured. In the last contest
characters actually had to defeat half decent opponents just to reach
the contest thus they must have had some strength. It's different here

a 12-hour match, breaking 85% is pretty insane. Mario/Bowser is
looking Link-esque. I can't wait to see what Cloud/Sephiroth and

Matches where SmartVotersFAQs could come into play: Round 1: Sub-Zero/Scorpion vs. Leon Kennedy/Ada Wong (Leon's probably the strongest character of the four, and Ada is strong enough to not drag him down (even though she probably loses 1v1 against either of the ninjas), but Subby/Scorp is by far the better rivalry) Fox/Wolf vs. Yuna/Seymour (debatable; Fox-Yuna 1v1 would be pretty close, so even without the fact that it's a better rivalry, Wolf's advantage over Seymour should give this to the Star Fox duo) Phoenix/Edgeworth vs. Gordon/Breen? (I don't know Half-Life well enough to know if this is the case or not, but from what I've been hearing, Breen could drag Gordon down here.) Round 2: Red/Blue vs. Luigi/Waluigi (Obviously Luigi's the strongest character here, but Waluigi's lack of appearances in mainline Mario games could hurt here.) Chell/GLaDOS vs. Frog/Magus (Maybe. Portal should've boosted since the last character battle due to Portal 2, while CT still has no reason to do anything but get weaker, but Frog/Magus is one of the better rivalries here. Still, Chell/GLaDOS is a legit rivalry, so I don't know what to think) Round 3: Luigi/Waluigi, if they make it that far, vs. Ryu/Ken or Fox/Wolf (Luigi vs. Ryu straight-up would be debatable, though I'd take Luigi, and it's arguable that even without the rivalry factor, Waluigi's weakness would push the duo behind Ryu/Ken anyway. But Luigi should normally be able to SFF Fox; I'm not so sure if he'd do so here because Waluigi's short on characterization and Fox/Wolf is one of Nintendo's better rivalries imo.) Samus/Ridley vs. Tidus/Jecht or Big Boss/The Boss (Okay, no, Samus still wins this one easily. Hell, Samus/Ridley is getting closer to a legit rivalry, anyway.) Alucard/Dracula vs. Frog/Magus or Chell/GLaDOS (But in opposite directions. In the case of Frog/Magus, it's Alucard being the stronger character but the weaker rivalry. In the case of Chell/GLaDOS...well, actually, Alucard's probably the stronger character there, too, even with his game aging, so this shouldn't be an issue since he's the stronger rivalry...I think.) Round 4: Red/Blue, Ryu/Ken, or Fox/Wolf vs. Samus/Ridley (nope, Samus still dominates here.) That's probably the last one; in all other cases, the stronger rivalry is also the stronger pair outright. --- mnkboy: I think they've put on their "scare new users away" pants. Weighted
Companion Cube, L-Block, and Missingno all have something in common
that separates them from the CATS' of the contests, and it's not that
they're any funnier. The difference is that everyone got the joke for those three, which they will with Poo as well. That's why CATS did a lot better when he got a recognizable picture. Edit: Anti-blowout FAQS never made sense as a theory. As has been said, the lower seeds were just more popular due to the vote ins. It's not like there were any matches besides Vincent/Guybrush where the character was supposed to break 80% and they didn't. --- "Ahem!
