So I have not paid any attention to the board what-so-ever in filling out my bracket this year. This is on purpose. Well I wasn't even sure if I was going to fill out a bracket, but then I just decided I would be dumb to not make one here. don't give credence to the idea that Dante chokes against strong
competition. How many close matches has he lost? 2? The probability
of losing 2 matches in which you're evenly matched with your opponent is
1 in 4. It'll take much more strangeness than that before I'll begin

Yeah
I was pretty down on the idea because it's stupid on paper, but a lot
of the matches seem pretty interesting. And the format is at least

Every
time the bracket is released I spend the first 1-2 hours away from
board 8 making my bracket then I don't change it for the rest of bracket

Biggest leap in "I don't give a damn" in a while. And it had over 73% at the board vote, which is already the highest we've ever seen that option at. For comparison, the most accomplished near elite is probably Squall. Jill Luigi Kirby Bomberman Knuckles Tidus Akuma Terra Auron I'm not sure if anyone else (sans Noble 9) has such a win collection against non-fodder. Squall desperately needs the rematch against Vincent, though. Mega Man (x2) Samus Alucard Mario (x2) Vivi Missingno Tifa Solid list, but not that spectacular for our longtime #3 Sephiroth, considering how dominant he used to be. Pretty lacking since 2005! Zero Aeris Ryu Tifa Luigi Crono Ganondorf Kirby Not bad at all for Sonic, more impressive than Squall's list. Squall (x2) Ryu Zelda Sora Bowser Yoshi Mega Man Sonic Pikachu Sephiroth Pretty good considering that most of Snake's strong period coincided with when we moved away from 1v1s. Sonic (x2) Squall Sora Ganondorf Tifa Zelda Snake Seems a pretty short list for the Queen of SFF, but I might have not put some names down due to them not being remotely in her league. Samus has an 0-5 record against Clinkeroth + Mario. Cloud Crono (x3) Bowser Zero Samus Snake Big Boss Charizard Good list for Mario. Impressive win record beyond his actual strength. Besides, Link has lost 25% of contests he's been in. That means he's only won 75%. That's not very high at all.....it means that the odds of Link losing, based on past contests, are the same as flipping heads twice in a row. This
is now a 10% jump in the "don't give a damn" category compared to last
time. Considering that number was already 68%, that's ****ing enormous.
You know, it's actually very impressive that a single option can
dominate a 5-way poll so badly. This rarely happens and is easily a
bigger blowout than we have ever seen in any contest match. I wonder how

totals today are very poor. Only 9096 votes after 6 hours and just
16698 votes after 12 hours, meaning this poll should barely break 30000
votes. Of course, these bracket polls have always had bad vote totals
and none of them have ever finished above 70000 votes. There's only been 6 polls (including today's poll) this year with under 10000 votes after 6 hours and they've all finished under 35000 votes. Check out the battle stats page, because it shows that there are 12551 battle picks (the page will usually display 12530 instead of 12551) right now. 80% of the site doesn't care about this contest and vote totals are REALLY bad. Nah,
my basic premise is that there are 3 characters who deserve to win
contests: Crono, Link, and Cloud, and in that order. The reason I
support Cloud over Link is that Link isn't so far ahead of Cloud that he
needs to win 6 contests to 1 of Cloud's. 2 or 3 to 1 is a fair ratio,

There's
room for a normal character battle with Link out, IMO. With great

Is
anyone considering taking Jill/Nemesis over Kirby/Meta-Knight? Based
on last year, Jill looks like she'd get around 45% against Kirby, and we
can probably add perhaps 2% more onto that for the night match this
year, as Kirby has one of the worst night votes there are. With some
site demographic shifting (such as from the loss of a huge percentage of
our voters), it look like it could be possible. --- 90s games > 00s games |
I'm really wondering what Big Boss/The Boss is going to pull off. I doubt they'll beat Metroid, but Snake always plays even with Metroid. Also, if Bosses beat FFX, it adds more weight to the fact that this *might* be the Year where MGS Beats FF in the form of Snakes beating FFVII. That being said, it's a longshot. Link/Ganondorf got a ridiculous chance of winning, followed by Mario/Bowser. FFVII would have a good chance if it wasn't for Link/Ganon and Snakes... But there's just not a high chance they can top both of them... AND THEN MARIO/BOWSER. --- Vaztor=Troll account. Truth Omegamarth... But slower, and with teh flamez. |

has a very very low chance of beating Link/Ganon, so they have a very
low chance of winning the contest, as they're probably not going to beat
any team that can beat Link/Ganon either. Whichever team wins the

Believe me, I want to pick this more than anyone else, but it's just too
risky, even with MvC3 and the theory of sinking votals changing up our
demographics. True, but Kirby is also extrapolated through a day match. My 55-45 figure was from just setting Sonic at 40% on Samus, by the way, which I think is pretty reasonable. I didn't even think of MvC3 earlier......I'll give it a few hours to think over, and maybe make a last minute bracket change on this one. It is something that immediately jumped out at me when I saw the bracket the first time, so it wouldn't be second guessing myself. --- 90s games > 00s games |
Yesterday,
I sent a feedback ticket asking Allen if he was planning to allow
actual Pokemon (namely, Charizard and Blastoise) to share picture space
with the Trainers. He hasn't responded yet and probably won't before
brackets close. Thinking about it, I doubt he will. For character
contests, There has never been a precedent of allowing anything other
