Yeah,
I think there's something to be said for Red/Blue having a much bigger
presence inside of the game than Ryu/Ken. Ryu/Ken is more of a rivalry
created outside of the game. I'm not sure which is better (Mario/Sonic
is an out-of-game rivalry and would clobber everything here), but it's
something to think about. --- Black Turtle did a pretty good job. |
Big Boss/The Boss will probably break 60% on Tidus/Jecht. Gut reactions on the bracket more generally: - Mario vs. Sonic in divison one! Kind of! - X vs. Zero has a boring path - don't see it breaking a sweat in its division and don't see them troubling Mario/Bowser. - Pokemon Trainers/Luigi/Ryu/Ken make division three look interesting. - Look out for Big Boss/The Boss vs. Samus/Ridley. Should be closer than many will expect. - Solid/Liquid vs. Crono/Lavos R1? And the winner gets beaten up by Cloud/Seph? What a waste. - Phoenix Wright vs. Edgeworth is not only a 1-seed... they're the the 1-seed of a super open division. Any one of four or five could win this and I wouldn't be surprised. Could Frog/Magus actually do it? Probably not, but they'll get further than Crono! - Last division looks good. Dante/Vergil vs. Sora/Riku, winner vs. Squall/Seifer. Should get debated a lot. - The real final ends up in the SFs, so we'll probably see a Link > Mario finals again. Hopefully X/Zero, Ryu/Ken, or the Pokemon Trainers can get involved in the top half to make it more interesting than it looks. Bracket gets 5.5/10 on a first runthrough. --- Praise the Black Turtle, Game of the Decade Guru Champ. (Well, I never promised creativity, did I?!) |

nothing really that difficult about it. Big Boss>Tidus, Jecht~The
Boss, both are actual good rivalries. BossBoss is the safe pick there. --- Black Turtle did a pretty good job. |

Subby/Scorpion
vs. Leon is a tricky match. I'm siding with the MK duo because I think
they get a much bigger boost from the format than Leon/Ada. Also Ada is
pretty darn weak. --- Black Turtle did a pretty good job. |

Nothing
dumb about taking Subby/Scorpion out of their fourpack. Subby is

Sub/Scorp are against Leon/Ada round 1 though Fox/Wolf vs Yuna/Seymour is debatable as well |
My upsets: Sub-Zero/Scorpion making their division final (actually had them winning until I realized X/Zero should be damn strong). Luigi/Waluigi winning their division. Shepard/Saren winning their division. Other than that, a pretty basic bracket, with M/B over S/R, L/G over C/S, with L/G winning it all. --- Wylvane Guru Contest Winner Black Turtle is a wonderful user. |

Fox/Yuna
is bleh. I really want to take Yuna there but Fox probably beats her

glad to see Seifer in a contest, not happy about him and Squall getting

So...
I'm a dreamer but what are the odds of Conker/Poo escaping their match
against Ike? Because I'd like to think that Poo would be stronger than
Prinny by a good deal due to more mass joke appeal, and I'd say the
Disgaea and N64 Rare fanbases are roughly equal, using Banjo/Gruntilda
as a gauge. Is it a night match or day? --- How many points did Black Turtle win the guru by? Wow that's a lot, a lot! |

really want to take Cecil/Golbez over them due to night match and Cecil
is probably stronger than Red, but at the same time I could see Red/Blue

Hell
yeah, 12 hour matches for round 1 and 24 hour matches for round 2 and
beyond. This is the best thing I was hoping for. This means a 47 day
contest. With half of the contest having 24 hour matches, it will be
possible to determine the average vote totals for the 24 hour matches in
this contest. Then we'll know for sure if we are really dealing with
