Alyx Vance > Companion Cube finals Just looked at last year's Villains bracket. If not for 4chan, Dr. Breen would have been in the semis against Vader. Dr. freakin' Breen, who is a nothing character in Half-Life. Alyx should be huge here. Also, there are no bishi anime guys and no Master Chief, so I don't really see anyone 4chan would rally against. They've gotta pick someone to rally for, and that isn't as fun. By the way, GameSpot is continuing their tradition of offering a ridiculous grand prize: - One (1) Sony 46" 3D HDTV - One (1) Xbox 360 w/ Kinect - One (1) Playstation 3 Slim w/ Move - One (1) Nintendo Wii Only three other prizes are offered, which are one current-gen console (PS3, 360, or Wii) chosen by GameSpot. He wouldn't get modded for saying Squall would decimate or destroy Crono because there's nothing wrong with saying it. But of course, he can't really "prove" that's the definition of the word he meant to use, so there's really no point in contesting it! Also, good job on GameSpot's part on creating a bracket weaker than our Villains Contest. That's quite an accomplishment. could be wrong, but I don't think this is a case where there have been
two definitions going back a long time in the language. I think the
term was just adapted among certain groups of people recently to mean
decimate/destroy, but it feels pretty well grounded in the other meaning
still. That is, it's a poor metaphor. Though as an aside, I never ever mark messages on this board. --- 90s games > 00s games |

Launchpad has a pretty predictable path for the most part. Either up to the semi's or the final. As for me, I picked EInstein > Luigi. Launchpad
will get all his strength for non-game reasons. It's possible he could
do well, but can he really pull off what guys like Vader and Joker did?
Remember that Carmen Sandiego was also in last year's Villains Contest,
and she sucked there just like she did here. I'd figure Launchpad is

still don't think Launchpad even gets out of the first round.. only way
he does is if 4chan decides to support him big time. He did bad in the
vote ins, and even on Gamefaqs, John Price is a low midcard/above the

picked Price over Launchpad and didn't think twice. Launchpad is from a
series that hasn't been relevant in 15 years. Does anyone under 20 even
know who he is? I barely do. Price actually looked good on here of all

The only characters worth keeping an eye out for are Launchpad (if people hate Captain Price like they hate MC...very unlikely) or Doc Louis (for his meme, though Clank/R.O.B. won't be fun to beat and Yoshi will likely pose too much of a threat before considering SFF to beat). If Garrus beats Yoshi, there's a chance the WCC beats Garrus AND then
Luigi in the finals. But if Yoshi beats Garrus, it would then face the
WCC, so in that case, even if Yoshi loses against the WCC, there's no
way the WCC beats Luigi in the finals. Oh my head hurts. EDIT: In other words: If Garrus > Yoshi, then Garrus < Luigi < WCC BUT If Yoshi > Garrus, then Yoshi =/= WCC << Luigi --- I didn't know Zelda games were supposed to be linked.
