What
about instead of a 2 on 2 poll, you run 2 matches side-by-side, and
combine the results of each pair of teammates? That way, Link could

It would be interesting to figure out which 6 hour time period would have the best vote totals. I figure 6:00 PM to 12:00 AM, since the poll starts during the ASV. what and when the next contest might be. In fact, I'd expect it to come
around reasonably soon (say, Spring '12 at the latest, but most likely

I would expect Winter '11, yeah. the SNES is getting five (or more...?) polls for its 20th anniversary,
LoZ/SMB/Metroid deserve more polls for their recent 25th anniversaries
too. It'll
be absolutely embarrassing to watch both Mario Galaxies getting SFFd by
worse games, and seriously, favorite game with ZSS? Brawl should
rightfully kill that. Zero Mission was awesome, and I liked Other M (in
the same way I liked Sonic Adventure's GameCube port, not in the same

We
don't really know where Scorpion was before MK9, much less now. He went
missing for years after 2004, had a good four-way contest in 2007, a
bad four-way contest in 2008, and narrowly failed the vote-ins in 2010.
He won't be fodder, won't challenge the high-midcarders, and it's hard
to say beyond that. Sub-Zero might be able to at least give the high-midcarders some problems, though. |
Scorps
has always been a low end midcarder. He put up 35% on Auron in 2004,
like Tails did in 2003 and Ness did the round after Scorpion in 2004. He
didn't really do that badly in 2008. Yeah, he had a weird round two,

of boosted characters...where would you guys peg Shepard at now? Still
at his 2k10 levels? Higher? Lower now that hype has worn of? He's
probably the strongest western character, so I can't wait to see how he

ME3 hype will be building by the time we actually get a contest, so Shepard should be an interesting character to see. If
ME3 was still on track for a 2011 release, it could have really
benefited Shep. Now that it's been pushed back to March 2012, I'm not

I'm kinda concerned that the vote totals are going to be even worse though. I'm concerned about that too. Last year's contest started in October during a month that had 19 non-contest polls. The 19 non-contest polls from last October had average vote totals of 61422. does that mean the contest will start this year, or end this year? If
its start, they really need to start the nominations pretty soon.
They'll need to have at least a 3 month block, and if its supposed to
end by December, he'll need nominations to start by middle of September,

I'm
assuming the contest needs to end this year so that they can run a
series of "Got ____?" polls after Christmas. That or the contest won't
actually begin until after those polls. Also, if the contest ends before Christmas, that means Skyward Sword comes out mid-contest. Zeldadorf back up to near-elites. |
