If you feel SMW is at around SM64's strength, it would be a close match, ignoring potential SFF. I don't. Comfortably means 54-55% before SFF (don't really expect any). --- 90s games > 00s games |

don't think other Nintendo systems are nearly as interesting in terms
of game depth. I mean, OoT vs. Mario 64 vs. Majora's Mask vs. Mario Kart

Also,
I think it's kind of interesting that he specified Nintendo only games
(although Mario RPG is technically a Square game, Mario or not). Maybe

doubt it. Not everyone loves Melee; many people like it but prefer
other games like Wind Waker and Metroid Prime. This isn't like OOT

hm, maybe. I feel like we've seen the Wii poll a million times in a

Melee obliterated Wind Waker when they went head to head in the Games Contest, and I'd expect Prime to fall in line, too. The GameCube doesn't have anything to stand up to Melee. I mean, after Wind Waker and Prime, what do you even have? Mario Sunshine and the Thousand-Year Door? It didn't obliterate Wind Waker. It didn't even double it IIRC. Ocarina of Time tripled Super Mario 64, a much stronger game than Wind Waker. --- 90s games > 00s games |

Doubling
is good enough for me, especially in a 4-way. LTTP went from tripling
Super Metroid to a little better than a doubling once we changed the
format, after all. Besides, the rest of the N64 lineup sans OoT would be much, much stronger than whatever competition the GameCube could muster up to throw at Melee, especially if you're only doing Nintendo exclusives. Besides, SFF or not, I don't see OoT putting up 50% when you have 9 other options. OOT/FFVII
can supposedly put up 20% against an unlimited number of other options,
though as creativename says, that's likely too high. I think it'll be
very hard to take OOT under 50% without putting either non-Nintendo
games or LTTP into the match though. The N64 field really isn't very
strong after Mario 64 and Goldeneye. --- 90s games > 00s games |

Oh dear I forgot how terrible GameFAQs' taste when it comes to video games is. A Link to the Past is a perfectly good choice for best SNES game, but geez, doing this well? No thank you. Super Metroid is actually holding up decently well and could very well defeat Super Mario RPG without more Nintendo in the poll.
