Common Stats Topic Lingo Defined*~ SFF (Same Fanbase Factor) - Same Fanbase Factor is the theory that, if two contestants share a common fanbase, the weaker of the two options will underperform in a direct matchup. For instance, Link was expected to defeat Ganon with 65% of the vote in 2004, based on their 2003 values. Instead, Link collected near 88% of the vote. This is the best example of SFF we've ever seen. However take some SFF labels with a grain of salt, as many people will slap it onto any match that doesn't make perfect sense. Extrapolated Standings - The mathematical "strength" of a contestant that's determined based on their performance relative to the rest of the field. This number is typically based on the contest entrant's loss, but adjustments are sometimes made. I was really hyped for another contest like a month or two ago. Now I'm kinda anti-hyped for it. I hope we don't get one soon so I can revert back to hype mode. If it's a games contest I'll be instantly hyped though. |

Nintendo
was still releasing outstanding games as recently as November, last I
checked, so I'm pretty sure rumors of their ruination are greatly

And yes, the only Nintendo games I like more than Super Mario Galaxy 2 are Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Metroid. The only Nintendo games I like more than Wind Waker are all the aforementioned ones plus Super Mario Galaxy and A Link to the Past. Quite frankly I think Wind Waker would be my favorite Nintendo game of all time if it weren't for: A) I've only played through it once, and that was back in Spring 2009. B) I shudder at the thought of participating in an endgame fetchquest that involves GRINDING FOR LOTS OF MONEY. Stupid stupid decision in an otherwise flawless game. Never mind. Generally I'm a guy who prefers his games to be more action-packed - this is why Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Metroid, A Link to the Past, and Super Smash Bros. Melee are my favorite games in their respective franchises, and why Super Mario Galaxy (/2) and The Wind Waker are my favorite 3D games in their respective franchises. think I got a bit carried away with the Zeldadrone character. But it
was just too too funny how people were railing against the Zelda drones

There's
no way I can be a Zelda drone either. The only games in that series
I'd regard to be all-time favorites of mine are A Link to the Past and
The Wind Waker. But yeah, an endgame fetchquest that involves grinding for lots of money IS the most stupid thing Nintendo has done in any of its big games in the past decade. never quite understood the concept of anti-voting. It implies that you
are voting against something that you would have otherwise voted for,
but if you already hate the character chances are you aren't going to

Embarrassingly ironic that HM would bring up Ganondorf after a post talking about anti-voting. Although anti-voting means you're voting in hopes that the other one will lose as opposed to voting for the character you like to win. Perhaps you normally would not have voted because you don't care for the other one, but he's facing someone you hate, so he gets your vote. I
don't actually hate Link, but I might as well hate him considering how
bafflingly potent he is in GameFAQs contests. This isn't even the same
case as Ocarina of Time where I really enjoy the game but consider it to
be the most overrated game of all time anyway because I can't see how
it became a "consensus" pick for that title - Link himself is just an
outright boring character. As a matter of fact, I find the Ocarina of
Time incarnation to be the most boring of them all - at least Twilight

Speaking of Nintendo ruining itself... ...am I the only one who thinks that Brawl would be the best Smash game if it wasn't so sluggish compared to Melee? Oh, and Brawl has the most expansive soundtrack of any game ever made. Can't ignore that. There was once a time where I couldn't imagine going back to Melee because it didn't have characters like Snake, Sonic, and Mr. Game and Watch (shut up, G&W is so much better in Brawl that he might as well not exist in Melee). Last December, I was playing Melee a lot and I couldn't imagine going back to Brawl because of Brawl's sluggish pace. I would consider a straight port to be Chrono Trigger. A remake includes new graphics engine, soundtrack, and voice acting. Gameplay adjustments may be made. Changing anything more than that and you're entering reimagining territory. |

After
a very strong board vote from "Several times a day", the option for
"Around once a day" is absolutely killing this poll right now. I know
"Several times a day" managed to build up a lead of several hundred
votes (I'll have to check up on the exact number later) and it's behind
