Common Stats Topic Lingo Defined*~ SFF (Same Fanbase Factor) - Same Fanbase Factor is the theory that, if two contestants share a common fanbase, the weaker of the two options will underperform in a direct matchup. For instance, Link was expected to defeat Ganon with 65% of the vote in 2004, based on their 2003 values. Instead, Link collected near 88% of the vote. This is the best example of SFF we've ever seen. However take some SFF labels with a grain of salt, as many people will slap it onto any match that doesn't make perfect sense. Extrapolated Standings - The mathematical "strength" of a contestant that's determined based on their performance relative to the rest of the field. This number is typically based on the contest entrant's loss, but adjustments are sometimes made. started a tally of how many stats topics each person has created
yesterday, but I gave up somewhere in late 2004 after realizing how
tedious it was going to be tallying by hand. Maybe someone can write a
script to do it. I'm pretty sure Ulti will have somewhere north of 700,
and I doubt anyone else has more than 50. --- 90s games > 00s games |

No
one actually hated the LUEshi topic; half the topic was mildly annoyed
and simply moved onto discussion in topic 403. I don't know why the
pro-LUEshi topic side keeps bringing it up as if it were some horrible

Most interesting one right now is our own GotD winner vs. Link to the Past. Also everybody should go vote for LA > TP |

would pick Epona to beat Master Chief, but I don't have a good read on
where he is strengthwise. I'm having some difficulty with the idea of
picking Epona to beat people like Magus, Frog, Tidus, and Yuna.

Fair's a long-shot I probably wouldn't take, but the question was
"could" and Epona's got a few wildcard-aspects about her that we don't
know enough about yet. She's the next staple in the series after the
Triforce-holders and she's important in three major games on this site.
From 1998-2007, there's maybe four non-LoZ games that could beat either
LoZ:MM or LoZ:TP...and that's ignoring LoZ:OoT. That's what we call a

Magus
wasn't exactly that far from the fodder line last time. And that's with
Alucard looking possibly stronger than ever in his match against Link,
so if anything Magus could be overrated in the stats. If you don't take Epona to beat Magus at this point, then it seems to me you have to either think something strange happened in Alucard/Magus or you're expecting Epona to be a flop. --- Black turtle beat me, o noes! |

Man,
Portal is becoming quite the force here. It's dominating B/W with nary
another Nintendo game in sight, and it should only do better once we get

Also everybody should go vote for LA > TP Surprised at Phantom Hourglass > Spirit Tracks, isn't the latter supposed to be way better or something? Definitely agree with LA > TP. Portal is a beast, yeah. Pretty much everyone who plays it likes it a good amount, and there's plenty who really love it. There's some really good characters in it, too. It's
also worth noting this is still during the PSN-fiasco too. Once that
network's back up and going, Portal 2 may be even further enjoyed here

I assume that game is listed in today's poll because of the 2/17/2011 release shown on this page: http://www.gamefaqs.com/pc/978772-amnesia-the-dark-descent/data The 2/17/2011 release was a retail release, as the one from 9/8/2010 could only be bought through an online download.
