Do you honestly think that Minecraft is really so strong? Yep, downloadable games still suck in these polls. Not necessarily 2D platformers I guess, since NSMBWii actually ended up looking like a decent midcarder last contest (I thought both it and MvC2 would be bad fodder, oh well I called that upset anyway), LBP at least always gets nomination support, and Mega Man 9 is apparently quite strong.

Speaking of which, I haven't hopped onto the recent 2D platformer craze yet (in fact I think the only 2D platformers I've ever beaten are Super Mario World and Super Mario Bros. 3, and the latter only being the GBA version and the former not 100%), so...should I? I have a huge backlog, but with the last games in that backlog being the Portal series it might actually be quite cool to spill into Braid and/or Limbo.

pretty expected result today. kinda surprised Limbo is hanging with Meat Boy so closely, but otherwise this reflects the general population pretty well. I wish v was doing better but that's about as good as one can reasonably expect.

The only one here I've played is SMB and I voted for LIMBO based on very little, so I'd imagine a decent amount!

I'd guess people are just voting the Scott Pilgrim game because of the name. I can see this being one of the few times when a licensed name is actually worth something, considering Scott Pilgrim is already video game related.

Super Meat Boy is nerdier than Scott Pilgrim, easily. Scott Pilgrim has a comic and a movie. SMB is a newgrounds-themed downloadable-only platformer hell thing.
