of x-stats, where does Santa stack up with our motley array of game

Santa holding up better than I thought. Saw this in the last topic. Holy smokes! We've got the underdog making deep cuts to bring the percentage below 51 in the final 6 hours of a 128 entrant Championship match. ...and yet all anyone wants to talk about is if Link will be able to survive an onslaught from one of the world's most beloved non-traditional fictional characters in a straight up 1v1 24 hour slugfest. Talk about a sign of things to come! Well said Ngamer! A starred in a video game contest featuring fictional characters would be the biggest contest thing on this site since 2K3. This
is still Link we're talking about here. Santa is likely getting a huge
boost here but challenging the site's #1 is an incredibly difficult
task. Being able to challenge the Top 5 on this site is an amazing

And
now that the early vote has quieted down, I want to bring this up
again. Crono got more votes in 12 hours in losing to Missingno in a
round 1 match earlier this year than Majora's Mask just got in 24 hours
in winning the contest final. This is just......an outrage! I would think it raises serious questions as to the health of this site. Or is such a large difference typical when comparing a Character Contest to a Games Contest? --- Inter-planetary-mega-stellar-hydro-static. There's no gravity between us. Our love is automatic. |

if this were any other day (well, not Christmas either), we would be
joking about how much stronger Santa could be on Christmas Eve or

Did anyone really think Santa would have decent strength outside the Christmas holiday? do you draw the line as far as eligible fictional characters go? Need
to be the main playable character in a game? And why only fictional
characters, over, say someone like Hulk Hogan? I can totally see the
likes of batman getting anti-voted though, especially in later rounds,
as some people will not like a fictional champion. |

It's defintely not a good sign for the site. Poll vote totals shouldn't be this low. A while back, I posted monthly vote total averages since the last character battle ended. March - 88565 (only 10 polls since the Character Battle ended) April - 82946 May - 76947 June - 77734 July - 72984 August - 69064 September - 63370 October - 61422 (only for the 19 polls before the contest started) Poll vote totals were slowly dropping every single month (except for June) since the last Character Battle ended. July is when vote totals really started to fell into a deep hole. But vote totals are heavily tied to the amount of site traffic and site traffic heavily depends on what big name games were released recently. I couldn't really think of any adjustments to make to the bottom half
of the bracket. Maybe see what happens if MM is worth 45% on FFX? But I
would like to see the three aforementioned adjustments done, if not
officially. Here's what they are if you guys forgot: -Top quarter of the bracket adjusted based on HL2's number on TP last year. -Halo's eightpack adjusted based on Halo's number on GTAIII last year. -DPP's fourpack adjusted based on DPP's number on SMG last year. I thought Santa might have had a shot at this. So very glad the
GameFAQs voters have once again pleased me with their outstanding
taste. This disgusting fatbodied piece of consumerist propaganda
shouldn't even manage 20% on Link. Link is a ****ing hero. He'd give
you the damn SKIN off his back. The myth of Santa Claus pressures your
parents to pull out a second mortgage in order to buy you shiny,

the record, I didn't pull an MWC and disappear because FFX lost!
Internet went out the other day, which was bad timing! Looks like I
missed out on a great last couple matches, too (24 hours forever)! Also, fictional character contest, let's do this. I don't think anyone would expect Santa to be our strongest non-video game origin character in such a contest, so... I
doubt we'll be seeing a combined tournament if fictional characters are
invited in. You guys have way more faith in the nominators than I do.
There's too much chance for people to just ignore popular characters
because they're not thinking of them as video game characters and we
end up with stuff like Sherlock Holmes as a 15 Seed or Batman as a 6

On
the plus side, I determined that if we get a Fictional Character
contest, I've decided on Wedge Antilles for sure. If it's just VG
characters, I'm still open to suggestions. Rush and Angry Moon are at
the top of my list right now. Maybe Shadow, as I know a lot of people
have debated how strong he would be. Terra also probably deserves
another kick at the can, given how well Kefka did with Dissidia boost. |
