The "Game of the Decade" winner. (In my heart!)

Man, I might take something like Sephiroth over Batman in an upset!

I'm a Sephiroth fan and really dislike Batman so he'd have my vote for sure. However I doubt this. Sephiroth lost to Solid Snake, and Snake is essentially Batman Lite.


This is hilarious. Would anyone else take Batman to 60-40 Santa on Christman Eve. Face it, nothing is beating Link for a very long time.

A lot of this early vote is Link hate. Batman would probably be doing substantially better. People would j*** their pants at the sheer sight of Batman in a poll for one thing.

I'd pick Link over Batman for the same reason he beats Snake. Because this site wants to vote for a true hero to win and Batman/Snake is no hero, just an old killer hired to do some wetwork or whatever. Batman/Vader would give Link his biggest chance of losing in a long long time though.

One thing that's a potential problem is that I don't think they're that popular outside of North America, unless I'm mistaken. Cloud can only even compete against Link by dominating the other continents; it's a serious handicap if you're not strong in Europe and Asia.

As expected almost no one near the top got this right. Our new 50th place used to be 470th place before the final match. Only 57 out of the Top 507 managed to get the match right. In the middle tiers, prediction percentage actually got into the 20s. The casuals defintely did a lot better than Board 8 did on this match. The prediction percentage fades away shotly after reaching the 20s.

42 people fell off the Top 50. That's everyone who got the match wrong. 64 points is simply too big a hit even if you did try to build a large lead throughout the contest. Comic book movies in general are more US centric than most movies. The typical movie makes like 55-60% of its gross overseas, whereas the typical comic book movie makes about 50%, sometimes less. Star Wars movies are also like this.

Other franchises, like Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings, James Bond films, as well as the James Cameron movies (Titanic, Avatar) are very overseas based and more in the neighborhood of 2:1.

I'd be very curious in a Bond match, to have multiple pics - one for each actor - and see which actor performed the best. Connery would be the big favorite to do the best, I wonder who'd be #2. And I wonder how much difference it would make.

And now that the early vote has quieted down, I want to bring this up again. Crono got more votes in 12 hours in losing to Missingno in a round 1 match earlier this year than Majora's Mask just got in 24 hours in winning the contest final. This is just......an outrage!
