Guess we'll see. Coincidentally, this is exactly the same when FFX had its largest lead. Majora is currently sitting on its own biggest lead of 1453 (a mere 26 away from FFX's largest), so let's see if Brawl starts the cutting. Better happen soon.

WTF is this s***? Why isn't Brawl beating the crap out of MAjora's mask? I reeeeeally wanted Final Fantasy X to win and it was close for awhile. But why is Majora's Mask this strong? That game was damn confusing.

Wander sucks because he's completely unrecognisable and you don't even hear his name said once in-game. Also every region knows him as something different. Worst possible example you could have used.

Skull Kid on the other hand, is basically the symbol of MM. Everyone knows who he is. I can definitely see him being a strong Zelda character, and leagues ahead of Epona.


Happy Mask Salesman is the symbol of MM because he is made of masks and also made of salesman, but mostly masks

I really doubt that Brawl will beat Majora's Mask in the day vote by nearly as much as Majora beat FFX in the day vote, and it would need to win the day vote by almost as much to win this match.

Remember how Bacon's argument for breaking up last year's contest by years was that a middle-tier game from recent years would slaughter a very good game from the earliest years of gaming?

Yeah, take that argument, and reverse it. NOSTALGIAFear is real. Older games > Younger Games. There will be exceptions, but as a rule, older games have the advantage. Against games from 2000-2009, Majora's Mask is the champion. Last year, Majora's Mask pretty much sucked...because its division was 1998-2000, and while it's better than anything that came after it, it couldn't stand up to the perfect storm that was 1998. (It was embarrassed by RBY in Round 1, then KO'd by RBY and the original MGS, remember? Both 1998 games, just like eventual champion OoT.)

No chance. MM is much better in the day than FFX (as yesterday proved). Even if SSBB takes over 30 votes off the lead per update, it'll still take four hours. And 30 votes per update is a lot vs. a Zelda game.

The reason for the difference between OOT/Brawl and OOT/Melee is that OOT/Melee happened on a day with a diluted ASV, while OOT/Brawl was on Sunday. Basing the projection on yesterday seems like a bad idea, but my sense is that it'll end up being the closest of those 3 projections.

Skyward Sword is a lock for the next GotD.

It's definitely the early favorite, but the decade's a long way from over. The Seventh Generation's been going on long enough that it probably shouldn't be long before we start seeing the early signs of eighth-gen systems (Technically, we've already got one eighth-gen system announced--the 3DS). Since its release is still a number of years away, we have no idea how the eight-gen Zelda will compare to the upcoming seventh-gen entry, Skyward Sword.

But, of course, nostalgia will likely give SS an extra boost if it needs it, and besides, Skyward Sword sounds great. I fully expect it to be one of the best Zelda games since Generation Five.

Not being facetious, I've never played any Wii games online. I don't think it's fair to blame Brawl for something that might be a wide issue with the console it's on.
