A = Strongest Character
B = Character Weaker than A
C = Character Weaker than B
To figure out a character's Xsts Percentage ---> [(CvB)(BvA)]/50 = CvA
To compare how C would do against B ---> [(CvA)/(BvA)]*50 = CvB
To figure out how B would do against A ---> [(CvA)/(CvB)]*50 = BvA

~*Say What? Common Stats Topic Lingo Defined*~

SFF (Same Fanbase Factor) - Same Fanbase Factor is the theory that, if two contestants share a common fanbase, the weaker of the two options will underperform in a direct matchup. For instance, Link was expected to defeat Ganon with 65% of the vote in 2004, based on their 2003 values. Instead, Link collected near 88% of the vote. This is the best example of SFF we've ever seen. However take some SFF labels with a grain of salt, as many people will slap it onto any match that doesn't make perfect sense.

Extrapolated Standings - The mathematical "strength" of a contestant that's determined based on their performance relative to the rest of the field. This number is typically based on the contest entrant's loss, but adjustments are sometimes made. See above for a watered down explanation for how the stats are calculated.

I hope my fellow FF fans let this go though, I really do. You should never have to be vindicated by the majority to be in love with your series. That is, in my mind, the ultimate hubris of people. "People dont think like me grr." My favorite games ever would, xstats wise, pay a large sum to get 30% of either one of these amazingly popular games. Just be happy you have so many people who agree with you, because hey I'll be happy to talk great about ffx all day, its good stuff.

Yeah, it had to be mentioned again.

If we had the same first 14 hours but all schools in North America were already closed for Christmas, we'd have gotten a very good match. MM probably still wins as even the Sunday OOT/FFX match has been predicting an MM win by a few hundred since morning, but the lead change wouldn't have happened until 8 PM or something. If it moved a little off those trends, it could have gone down to the wire.

It doesn't have to make sense.

And the Round 4 OOT/FFX projection that was being dismissed out of hand last night has been vindicated. This match looks right now like it'll end within 0.3% of what that match predicted at the 30 minute mark. It briefly flipped over into predicting an FFX win after that, but switched back to MM by 2 AM, and since morning has been consistently predicting an MM win by 1300-2000 votes.
