SFF (Same Fanbase Factor) - Same Fanbase Factor is the theory that, if two contestants share a common fanbase, the weaker of the two options will underperform in a direct matchup. For instance, Link was expected to defeat Ganon with 65% of the vote in 2004, based on their 2003 values. Instead, Link collected near 88% of the vote. This is the best example of SFF we've ever seen. However take some SFF labels with a grain of salt, as many people will slap it onto any match that doesn't make perfect sense.

Extrapolated Standings - The mathematical "strength" of a contestant that's determined based on their performance relative to the rest of the field. This number is typically based on the contest entrant's loss, but adjustments are sometimes made. See above for a watered down explanation for how the stats are calculated.

Brackets may propel it to a lead at 0:05, but MM will take the lead at 0:10. OOT/Link consistently goes up against FFVII/Cloud on the second update after all!

Seriously though, don't be surprised if MM goes up the 2nd update (though it won't matter if FFX really is ahead after 5 minutes).

Omitted scores got it wrong.

Ignoring the massive clump of 269 brackets, 82 out of the top 106 managed to get the match correct. It wasn't too difficult of a match assuming you had SSBB getting to it. Overall prediction percentage was abysmal, though. Less than 7% of brackets had SSBB in the final match. For comparison, 50.98% of the Gurus had SSBB going this far.

Just 1 person fell off the top 50. Oreoremedy did not have SSBB reaching the final round.

There is no better video game company out there right now than Square-Enix - Denzokuken

I don't know why but I get the sense that Majora's Mask is a huge power hour game. FFX is in trouble here but I'm not convinced Majora has it. at the very least, Majora has proven that it is legit.

gonna be tough to see FFX beating Brawl if it can't take down Majora's Mask. it would need a real anti-vote.

Heh, so apparently I got warned last night for making an off-color joke about Link's facial expression in one of the match pics. Who knew the stats topic had such prudes :P

Thanks to Kaxon for the alt. I'd never made one so I didn't have an account with enough level to post on this board! Who knew the board was elitist like that...

Embarrassing performance by Brawl, too bad it'll still win the contest probably. As for Brawl having an anti-bandwagon, it's very possible, but I'm a bit skeptical because the trends it displayed were still that of a board fave. Can't recall seeing bandwagon or anti-bandwagon results that weren't clearly led by the board vote. The person voting a 2 minutes is a lot more likely to bandwagon something than the random kid voting at 3:15pm.

And I hope FFX can come back from this...still possible with the night vote, it just depends how horribly MM kills FFX during the day.

MM goes UP in percentage! Looks like the FF resistance force took the board vote, the same force that's made Link rise on the 2nd update against Cloud since 2006.

On the other hand, don't be too alarmed, FFX fans; this has happened to Cloud against Link since 2006, and FFVII against OOT, but they started gaining soon after. Going to make projections, but from what I remember I think for Nintendo vs. non-FFVII Square, 51% at the end of the power hour is usually good enough for the Nintendo game to win in 24 hours.

For what it's worth, Majora's Mask did not have a very good early vote against any of its opponents, except Chrono Cross.
