Fallout
3 could easily break 45% in the next four hours, which means that it
could end up with a higher percentage today than RE4 did against FFX.
Unless something crazy happens tomorrow, Brawl will maintain its
favorite status, but it's not looking great here in its first
significant non-SFF match. Conversely, FFX and MM both looked very good

Fallout 3 has won its first 15 minute period. Yeah,
I think I'm going to just ignore Thursday's match until noon, then
pretend it's a 12 hour match and Allen instituted a handicap and blame

There
needs to be 24 hour matches for the last 4 rounds (divisional finals
and on). We were robbed by not having 24 hours for the Smash match. Doing that would extend the contest by 6 days and lead to a 71 day contest. Doing it for the last 3 rounds (starting with the quarterfinals) only extends the contest by 2 days. get the feeling that the placement of the contest may have resulted in

I
don't think Melee could have won a day match either. Both day and night
matches have different downsides for Melee. A night match gives Europe,
Asia, and Oceania more dominance over the match and those continents
preferred Brawl to Melee. A day match has less involvement by Europe, Asia, and Oceania, but Melee would be killed by the ASV, so it only has about 3 hours to build up a lead before the ASV hits. did get an easy path, and that should be MGS3 instead of it, but it did
more than mildly impressive. It beat the heck out of MP, for example. |

been somewhat impressive the whole contest, sure (by the time its match

Yeah,
Star of the contest when it couldn't even break 60% on GTA3 / TOS
through extrapolation, the same GTA games that were extremely
impressive in this format. Brawl is just suffering from some backlash.
Nothing impressive about FO3. |

Wouldn't call it the star over MM or SotC though. Hmm, SotC was pretty cool as well. I call FO3 the real star because it's arguably the non-Nintendo, non-Square game that performed best. But I guess that's only true if Brawl does end up winning the whole thing. If it doesn't then yeah, there's not much impressive about it. |

Brawl is just suffering from some backlash. Eh, I don't know how much that means. If by suffering from some backlash you mean it doesn't have as many on the bandwagon on this match, then yeah. There might be some backlash against Brawl, from Melee people, but I think for the most part Brawl will get either its natural support, or perhaps some people jumping on it to beat whatever it goes up against. That's partly what made it beat Melee. That's what's gotten it to where it is, probably. |

already down to below 55%. That's a, what...6% drop from the freeze?
Unbelievable. Feels great knowing Fallout 3 will be exiting the contest

if you extrapolate through the 2008 GotY, Fallout ending at around 55%
is about what you'd expect, so I dunno if this is "backlash" or
anything since while it's gonna keep going up for a while it's gonna go
down with the "ASV" (which possibly should be weakened today given it's

But yeah seriously though Brawl got 52% on MGS4 In the three way it was Fallout 3 31%, MGS4 33%, Brawl 35% Didn't do the actual extrapolation there but 45% seems about right just by eyeballing it, and I'm guessing that's somewhat close to where it'll finish today. --- No problem! I think people are really underestimating Fallout 3. You know how MGS4 dropped the hell off from 2008 and looked bad because of it? Fallout 3 isn't doing that. FFX still needs to beat MM by worse than this to be a favourite if you ask me. Well I know I'd take Fallout 3 over Majora's Mask what the balls is this. MGS3 would take out fallout, let alone MM. The only argument to be made is Brawl has built up a large anti-voting base and is letting everything overperform on it.
