The FF12 of the Zelda series is Zelda 2.

There isn't a FF12 of the Zelda series because unlike the FF fanbase the zelda fanbase cares about all of it's games enough to support them. This blatently obvious by how well every zelda game does and Links fanbase. Plus Zelda is a more consistent series than FF. You'd never in a million years see Nintendo release something like FF13.

Oracle of ages/season would be stronger of those lot. But still nothing big, i mean it would beat most fodder stuff but nothing remotely strong. I would take every single one of those games to beat Mario kart Wii for example(which is the turd of the contest as far as i'm concerned)

Eh. I'm not confident any of the portable Zelda games I mentioned would be weaker than Metroid Fusion, which is worth 24.36% on Brawl with possible SFF thrown in there. They all sold better and the Zelda name > Metroid on gamefaqs. People weren't generally expecting Link's Awakening to be so strong last games contest either.

Why would you want only one possible good match instead of possibly two good matches. Having Link/Cloud going at it first was much better than splitting the two apart.

That's why you keep Brawl in the main bracket. We get:

Winner vs. FFVII
FFVII vs. OOT

That's better than:

FFVII vs. OOT
Bracket Winner vs. Brawl
Winner vs. Winner

Well, looking like Wind Waker would have beaten GSC. I can buy RBY SFFing Majora and GSC at fairly close amounts with the MGS1 voters favoring Zelda, but I don't think I'd take Majora to SFF GSC as badly as Wind Waker, if it even SFFed GSC in the first place.

Hmmm, on the leaderboard it has my account being Black_Turtle. Anybody else notice the space get turned to a _ on the leaderboard?

Imagine how strong Majora would be if it didn't need the Expansion Pack add-on. It might give LttP a respectable fight.

Honestly while I remember this being some big deal at the time, it's not like it really affected its sales and reception, and it's not like it isn't available in several non-N64 forms now. I don't think playrate is something MM has to worry about, same for every Zelda game save Spirit Tracks for recency, and the Capcom games because those really didn't sell that well compared to the Nintendo made ones.

In other news, I see this more as Halo vs. Halo 3 than Melee vs. Brawl or KH vs. KH2. Here there's a clear favourite in the fandom so the gap is fairly wide. And yes, I would take TP over MM, but that would definitely be closer. However keep in mind, Wind Waker could still be almost as strong as Majora's Mask indirectly.

Thrice, yes. The Oracle guys nailed its percentage against Galaxy perfectly, and that was its least "awesome" performance by far. Majora has impressed four times now, and twice in matches that were extremely debated just a few days ago.

I'm enjoying the sense of speed as we wind this down, by the way. We just had Melee/Brawl, yet Brawl takes the stage again in just over 18 hours against the last opponent with any shot of keeping it from the finals. A Zelda win, while unrealistic to most, is very enticing because it cracks the contest wide open. If both Smash games are gone, I'd give TP, FFX, RE4, and MM scary legit chances at winning. I can't remember the last time we had such an unpredictable crapshoot to round out a 1v1. Maybe none since 2003.

That's just mad overhype, Yo. Brawl is making the finals, it will LIQUIDATE TP due to same-console hierarchies. Now, MM and FFX...that's a much more interesting match. If any of the two games wins convincingly, they might have a shot at the gold.

I'm not totally sold on MM yet. It blew the hell out of Wii Sports. It doubled Chrono Cross... which has a big range, much of it pretty bad. It 56-44'd GSC, which extrapolated onto MKWii, possibly through two SFF matches, still leaves it a way short of Brawl's percentage on MKDS. It's 57-43ing the most vulnerable-looking of the Zeldas. Not saying it's not got a great shot at going all the way, but I also think there's a not-insignificant chance it's bearing to be stronger than it really is. If it gets much over 55% on MGS3, I'd definitely stop doubting it.

Twilight Princess though, wow. I think it will give Brawl one hell of a match. I might be biased though: it'd definitely be my preferred winner after FFX.

Eh, MGS3 should do better than that. I won't get too caught up in stats when looking at that match. We're not sure just how much SFF Majora is dishing out here, and MGS3 is way too different a game, is backed by a much different fanbase, and is a very respected game in its own right. A 60/40 would surprise the hell out of me there. I'd take Majora to win the contest the moment it goes out and does that.
