Well, back when I was in school, my last day was the 23rd. Maybe it's a regional thing? I'm in Pennsylvania, so maybe other schools in my state have their last day on the 23rd.

Also in response to earlier discussion, Super Mario Galaxy wouldn't be top 10 of the decade at most other sites. Most of the lists I've seen have it wading around the 10-20 range on average. On Game Stooge's list Galaxy was only #25, and...tell me if you want me to post that list. Most of you probably don't.

I agree with Turtle, MGS3 got this. I love SotC, it had a great run, but it's about to meet its match. SotC is not a joke entry, which is what might have boosted others at this point. Any fad power it might have gained has run its course, if the numbers are any indication.

Analysis

This quarter of the bracket has not been kind to me. Shadow of the Colossus will try and continue its destruction of the Metal Gear Solid series. Metal Gear Solid 3 was able to put up a decent performance, but that was only because it had the night match, had the match been in the day or even 24 hours we would be looking at the results at a different way.

I guess the main question would be whether or not Shadow of the Colossus would get a bandwagon effect and whether or not it’ll be enough to defeat Metal Gear Solid 3 at night. Last round people were already calling for a bandwagon, but I don’t see much reason for there to be one. For one thing there was nothing surprising about Shadow of the Colossus defeating Metal Gear Solid 2 to the casual; in fact Shadow of the Colossus was the slight battle bracket favourite. It’s not like Metal Gear Solid 4 was that impressive at defeating Diablo II either and besides most of us were calling for a close match just that Metal Gear Solid 4 would be in control. Now that Shadow of the Colossus has gone through two Metal Gear Solid games, one of which caught even the casuals off-guard we could see a bandwagon. Still seeing a 2 seed get a bandwagon is pretty weird, especially one that is as respected as Shadow of the Colossus.

Metal Gear Solid 3 does have the advantage of it being a night match and it does seem that the board is on the bandwagon so it’ll have to weather the storm at the beginning before it can have a chance. I bet most people will take Shadow of the Colossus because of the bandwagon and I don’t blame them, the game does have a great chance at continuing its path. Personally I feel that this match will showcase just how much Metal Gear Solid 4 has really fallen.

It's one of the worst games ever made. SotC DEFINES joke entry
