SFF (Same Fanbase Factor) - Same Fanbase Factor is the theory that, if two contestants share a common fanbase, the weaker of the two options will underperform in a direct matchup. For instance, Link was expected to defeat Ganon with 65% of the vote in 2004, based on their 2003 values. Instead, Link collected near 88% of the vote. This is the best example of SFF we've ever seen. However take some SFF labels with a grain of salt, as many people will slap it onto any match that doesn't make perfect sense.

Extrapolated Standings - The mathematical "strength" of a contestant that's determined based on their performance relative to the rest of the field. This number is typically based on the contest entrant's loss, but adjustments are sometimes made. See above for a watered down explanation for how the stats are calculated.

Melee will lose the morning. Brawl is by far the casual favourite, Melee is very much a power hour game as the only people who like it are the competitive no-item players.

Melee's getting perilously close to that 51% mark at the end of the Power Hour. As long as it stays over that, I think it's still a fairly heavy favorite to take this. Remember, the match doesn't end at 6 AM, Melee's got 6 hours of morning/DSV after that, 6 hours that produce a lot more votes than the dead zone.

Well, if Melee does have the more "hardcore" fans for it, it's NA %age might be deceptive. Power Hour strength and geolocation aren't the same thing. This match is very up in the air.

Anyways, Brawl under 58% in Europe. I think it probably drops a bit more later tonight. I'm hoping for Europe to switch over to Melee, as a result of Asia heavily favoring Brawl.

Good news for Melee, UK is now under 53%. Europe should get significantly closer than the current 56.5%.

Asia's almost at 70% though, and Melee is far from assured of winning the morning vote. The morning vote is a tossup.

I think Brawl is a slight favorite now. Melee with the Power Hour trend and only at 51% isn't that good.

Oceania and South America have made big changes over the course of this hour. Melee was winning both by more than North America at the start; now it's losing 61-39 in SA and 54-46 in Oceania.

WY should get to pick the winner. They rarely get it wrong.

What might be good for this match is the fact that I expect Europe's involvement in this match to be very terrible, given that Smash is not popular in Europe at all. Asia's involvement should be very terrible as well.

The record low for Europe in a night match was just 16.01% of the total votes, which was in the Luigi/Meta Knight match in the last Character Battle. Ironically, that match consisted of 2 characters that are both in Brawl.

The record high for Europe in a night match is 20.45%.

For Europeans, I'm pretty sure Wii is much more popular than Gamecube. I'm not sure with the UK though.

This is true. The Gamecube had horrible sales outside of North America. The same was even true for the N64, though to a lesser degree.
