Halo. That is all that needs to be said. I did not think that Fallout 3
could break 60% here. So also woah there Fallout 3, unless...Halo just
sucks still, and its opponents happened to suck more! Also this makes

No reseeding please. No I expected Halo to break 45%. And I don't buy that Fallout 3 is finally showing strength; casual shooters have been bombing all contest, so it only makes perfect sense for it to catch up to Halo at some point. this confirms Batman is the strongest game of 09? I would say U2,AC2

multi-platform poll was too tough for Batman to defeat. I mean this

In
the case of the multi-platform poll, I don't think it's fair to allow
only the winner of that poll to move onto the GotY poll. Maybe allowing
2 games from multi-platform to get into the GotY poll seems more fair,
given that multi-platform games are almost always stronger than a game

be fair, I think Halo is being hurt a lot by Fallout 3 because Fallout
3 is a RPG shooter. It's splitting the FPS lovers of GameFAQs just

lack of a first hour probably hurt Halo a bit. Halo probably would have
done better if this poll didn't glitch up, since it gives North America

already and a night match really kills Halo. Uncharted 2 is probably

Next match is 1. Metroid Prime jumps out to an early lead because of its ridiculous early vote 2. HL2 never has time to build up much of a lead because it doesn't have any favorable trends in a day match 3. ASV comes, HL2 falls off the earth It's probably that simple. I think a night match favors HL2, 24-hour match probably favors HL2. No confidence in a day match. --- DFF |

Match CXIV: (1) Metroid Prime vs. (2) Half-Life 2 Last Round Metroid Prime – 58.16% Okami – 41.84% God of War – 45.63% Half-Life 2 – 54.37% Analysis While a lot of people have been looking forward to this match it will probably become a warm-up to the Melee/Brawl match that happens right after. No one can really say which game will win with much confidence. Personally I believe Half-Life 2 is the stronger game before the contest and nothing has really changed my mind about that. It was talked about while these two games were battling last round, but I would take both God of War and Grand Theft Auto III over Okami, not only were they clearly better last contest, but they both performed pretty well against their opponents while Okami struggled to defeat Mega Man 9, a downloadable game by a significant margin. Of course this still gives Metroid Prime a window of opportunity since it won by more which is why no one can really say much about this match. When there’s a close match always bet on Nintendo and while that has worked more often than it hasn’t I’m going to take the risk and say it doesn’t in this match. Metroid Prime has never impressed in anything ever since it won 2002 GotY going all the way back to where it struggled to get a decent win over the original Half-Life. But enough about that. Day match. Advantage Metroid Prime. The ASV will hurt because it's a Nintendo game. But also because Metroid Prime outperformed Half-Life 2 by a bit. I expect HL2 in the lead at least at the start and then we'll see MP pulling away with the win and when the ASV hits, it seals the deal.
