GSC should still be quite a strong game, if not as strong as we thought. I doubt FFX would break 56% on it, although it doesn't have to if MM got SFF on GSC as is likely.

CC being fodder just seems really weird to me - it could be a low midcard, but I can't imagine it's weaker than that. Just my opinion.

MM hasn't remotely proven itself FFX tier yet.

In this contest, at least, I don't think MM has looked far off from FFX at all; plus, I can definitely see MM getting bandwagon support later on in the contest. It's definitely a toss-up match, don't get me wrong, and I can see why most people would give FFX the edge - but personally, I'm slightly leaning towards MM.

People made GSC out to be a monster and when it got beat by MM, they held on to that notion that it's a monster. It's not.

Setting aside GSC's stellar run last year, it still demolished Advance Wars in a contest that's been very kind to GBA games, and it did pretty well against Mario Kart Wii too. Both games are unknowns, of course; but personally, I think both performances indicate that GSC is still quite potent, if not a contender for the finals like many thought. 56% on it is a great performance.

You don't think that a game from the biggest handheld franchise in history SFF'd a somewhat niche handheld strategy game? And who the hell plays or like any Mario Kart after 64?

Eh, if Chrono Cross is fodder, do we still take Legend of Dragoon to be weaker than it? Because if so, that would say very bad things about most of of North Division's lower half.

The Uncharted / Halo / Sunshine part? I can see that.

If GSC is a midcard and it 70/30's two fodder games, and CC only 60/40's a fodder game, it's pretty much high fodder or low midcard.

Analysis

Fallout 3 has finally started to look beatable before the semi-finals while Halo showed us why the game is the king of the ASV by going from a tie to an easy win against Uncharted 2. Too bad Halo’s first night match is the one where it will be eliminated in. I seriously think Halo could have done some damage to Fallout 3 during the day.

While Batman did bring Fallout 3 down to Earth we don’t exactly have much of a reading on the game, but with Halo we do have some idea. While no one would take Halo over the winner of Metroid Prime and Half-Life 2 most people would expect the game to put up a decent performance. All Fallout 3 needs to do is wow everyone with a strong performance to be a huge favourite.

We should also remember that due to this being a night match Fallout 3 will probably perform better just because it’s up against Halo at night. To give an example in the last games contest Fallout 3 had over 60% on Halo 3 at the half-way point while it ended at around 58%. Remember that before going all crazy about Fallout 3’s chances.

The KH2 ASV is the only thing that really scares me as to TP's chances of winning that match. Since it was believed that KH2 easily winning the ASV over KH was the result of SFF, KH2 struggling to win the ASV over TP might support the idea that there was SFF in KH/KH2.

Only a fire of mediocrity. FF9 doubled Chrono Cross already and MM did worse on GSC than Xenogears
