you would think these seemingly endless contests couldn't get any lamer. This whole bandwagoning a silly joke character/game isn't cute anymore. Yet it seems every contest has one, L-Block, Charizard, Missingno and now SoTC

Kingdom Hearts + Uncharted 2 = dead bracket.
This contest, man.

It's actually doing a little better than MGS4 in Europe, which probably counters most of the Asia disparity. Really, it looks like the games have about the same trends. So I would only give a small advantage to MGS3 with the night vote, since I'd expect it to be a little more night oriented than the PS3 game.

Uncharted 2 is about as mainstream as a PS3 game can get, yet it was still solely a night game. How the heck would MGS4 be more day-oriented than MGS3, which was on the PS2?

I had MGS2 in the quarterfinals. It is every bit the MGS game that the other three are.

Lead from 731 to 644 in the last half hour.

5.5 hours to go. 90 votes per half hour. 990 vote swing if that continues.



Even though this wrecks my bracket pretty badly, I still want to see SotC win just for the **** of it, though. There may not be bandwagoning this round, but there will be next round. Oh yes, there shall.

Figures that now that MGS4 is making consistent cuts, it's making cuts that are below the rate it needs to win.

I'd be surprised if Diablo II defeated SotC, personally. Even before it started to receive bandwagon support, Colossus looked golden: I doubt Diablo II would nearly get 70% on The Sims, y'know?

I know this is random, but I'm curious: who made Majora's R3 match pic? For my money, it's one of the best match pics of the contest, and it makes me even more nervous about GSC > MM.

Diablo II got what, ~75% on Eternal Darkness? I think it can beat down fodder. The Sims doesn't strike me as being any stronger. Maybe it is, but it would not surprise me if SotC just gets somewhat anti-voted.

Next round? Yeah, maybe. I cooked up this ridiculous scenario in this exact division involving WoW. I thought it would be stronger than it was, and that Blizzard fanboys would actually come out to vote. (I guess I was on crack when I filled out my bracket.) I envisioned some massive rally putting WoW over MGS3, and then everyone else from the site roaring back in the following round and swallowing it whole with MGS4. If SotC gets destroyed by MGS3, I'll have had the right mentality, but the wrong game.

I think this would have been the round for fanboy revenge.

Sack Up Or Shut Up™

Let's discuss THE match of round: Majora's Mask vs. Pokemon GSC.

Majora's Mask came off with a very impressive win over Chrono Cross; however, let's remember that Final Fantasy IX did a little over a doubling on it itself. So, even accounting for the night match, it seems to me that Majora's Mask has proved nothing more than that it's a little stronger than FF9, perhaps! Despite that, MM's score there still scares me... I still somehow expected more from a Chrono game....

Pokemon GSC, taking raw match data from the last contest, is clearly the victor. Metallics got close to Majora's Mask even with chromatics in the same poll. So, is there a worry that GSC will be weaker in this format, then? Or could Majora's Mask have taken a boost for some unknown reason?

When you look at other Zelda games (Twilight Princess) we can't draw anything from there, aside from that Twilight Princess has done just expected (maybe slightly better). Pokemon is a mixed bag: we did see RSE beat GTA4 only to get crushed by Galaxy, and we saw RSE struggle with Fusion and Brawl. As for GSC itself, it's victory over Mario Kart is difficult to decipher for obvious reasons. It's victory over Advance Wars wasn't too bad. Overall, I suppose Pokemon is just slightly underwhelming.

Looking at the match pic, it seems fairly even. Initially. But, then we have to realize that GSC had in-game sprites when it was in ""that" poll last year.
