Not
many RPGs here can say they could beat a mainline-FF-game, including ME
from last year, so this is a good show from ME thus far. How many other
non-FF RPGs can say that? I'm assuming FF12's the lowest on the
tote-pole, so let's go ahead and get the Square-ones out of the way: CT KH1 KH2 From there, what else could argue it could? Actually,
make that Mass Effect needing 52.78% instead to be safe, with 52.77% I

I'm assuming FF12's the lowest on the tote-pole FF2j and FF3j are probably weaker unless voters mistake them for FF4 and FF6. Mass
Effect looked so much weaker than Oblivion in 2009. I think there's a
limit to how much any game can increase, especially since ME didn't
exactly wow us in the first two rounds. ME definitely grew, but I think
this has much to do with FFXII simply sucking ass. |

also hate to rain on the parade, but it's worth asking: how confident
are we really that this is a new and improved Portal from last year? ME
didn't exactly impress against SoA which we all suspected would be weak
(before and after its win over BG2), FF12 didn't impress against a
PSP-game much like MW2 didn't impress against one (which then went on
to be easily outdone by Halo 2), and PM:TTYD 60-40'd Gears 1 so
Portal's ~71% isn't so impressive on Gears 2 after that (especially
considering the rest of the games in Gears 2's vote-in). I'm still rooting for it to impress against RE4, but this is a match BGE2 predicted to be about a doubling. ME2's proving it helped ME, but this is still quite a jump if you think Portal jumped since last year too. --- Epona: pulling off the "horse-face" better than Sarah Jessica Parker since 1998. http://img812.imageshack.us/img812/3492/eponaharr.jpg |

Portal
is probably not much stronger than its characters from the character
contest, if any at all. I think it's clearly weaker than 2007 WCC
obviously, but current values they have to be pretty similar in nature. --- :> |

Portal
is definitely a good bit stronger. It's not going to threaten RE4 or
anything, but it probably received a boost similar to what Bioshock

Portal
is still a high midcarder, and the x-stats are going to be very
friendly towards it if RE doesn't break upper 50's. It had a tough

Portal already proved it was a strong game. It's very likely to be on the very same level than Fallout 3. Half-Life 2, however, certainly doesn't seem as strong as Portal. largely be seen as a disappointment. You can't capture that kind of
lightning twice. If this was any other company I would agree. But it's Valve. The only game they made that is close to a "flop" is HL2: Episode 1, and that's still really good. of the VGA nominees were better choices than Portal 2 for that award,
not to mention Mortal Kombat, Tomb Raider, Twisted Metal, Elder Scrolls

it just me, or does this match make anyone nervous about MM/GSC? I
can't see Chrono Cross being weaker than Skies of Arcadia, and if this
match were to end right now, that means Chrono Cross would give ****ing
Final Fantasy XII a good match....which means MM blows FFXII out of the water worse than Portal did. Can GSC really match that? --- It takes a genius to make something simple truly great. Dr. Football, you are the man! I'll take you down next contest though... |
