If you gave all of Pokemon GSC's votes to RBY with OoT in the poll it underperformed against MGS by about 3%, Pokemon isn't doing that much to other Nintendo games.

Then GSC beats FFX, leading to Kingdom Hearts vs. GSC in a Square/Nintendo match that goes completely in reverse of traditional Nintendo/Square trends other than the Power Hour.

Compare post-FFX games to pre-FFX games is silly. It's an entirely different bracket of popularity. FFXI, FFXII, FFXIII are despised big time by a lot of FF fans. FFIX is still disliked by many but like FF8, it's still pretty damn popular.

This is some definite respect factor. The only other explanation is that TP is overrated after going up against terrible crap for two rounds. Nothing we saw would have given Mario a legit, intrinsic chance at 40%+ outside of respect factor. It just didn't show that strength.

So yeah, Brawl is screwed. No one respects it!

Likely right about the top part. Not only that though: we've been giving some credit to anti-votes lately, but many of these anti-voted games were going against well-respected games. We've seen SSBM get the blow-out of the contest against GH2, Perfect Dark scare CoD4, MvC2 pull it out on NSMBW, Portal embarrass FF12, PM slaughter the casuals on WoW, and SotC upset MGS2 after MGS was out-clutched for the first time since Frog/Liquid. SMG was the fourth most nominated game this contest and SMG2 is currently a contender for GotY this year while LoZ:TP has a somewhat-mixed reception and is the lowest-seeded LoZ-game in the bracket (and the other LoZ-titles have been hated before, too) ...so resisting some SFF isn't nuts.

However, I can still see SSBB SFF'ing SMG harder than this again. People got SMG largely to hold them over for SSBB...possibly that was important to judging last year's contest. We saw SSBB significantly outdo this once before, and it'd help explain why SMG looked so much worse in the recent GotD-poll compared to the original GotC-poll and the recent poll about one-seed predictions, too. Between that and IGN's recent poll (can't seem to find it) where SSBB beats SSBM and SSB combined, I feel pretty darn good about SSBB getting respect!

Augh, I have no idea what to do in the battle challenge. I am equally torn between banking, taking KH1, and taking KH2. If I want to finish top 15(ish) I can't bank, but if I get this wrong I don't see how I finish on the leaderboard by the end. Meh. I might as well take a screenshot of my being 26th place since it's probably as high as I get.

Well, the good news (for me at least) is that Europe's voting block gradually swindled to the point where NA and Europe are both at 61%. The NA vote slowly rose but the night vote will showcase the European vote mostly. So if it continues going down, this could stall it the entire night or maybe drop it slightly (wishful thinking).
