given the FF franchise voting we've seen in the past, it's possible that FF is just better in fourways. FF10 and 12 have definitely looked off.

Darn right! Borderlands could give Morrowind a fight and Vesperia could beat Valkyria Chronicles! I'm not sure what the big deal is!

Actually, the entire 2009 crew looks like one big clustershot of crap anyway, with AC2, Batman, and UC2 looking a decent bit better than the rest.

Looks like HL2 has bled about 0.2% for the last hour.

Dunno what to make of this match. HL2 is keeping itself in contention against Prime and I honestly thought that this match would be closer pre-contest.

That's silly. CoD4 is going to be stronger than MW2, MW2 got 33% on KH1, and Melee isn't going to be that much stronger than KH1.

Analysis

I know a lot of people wanted to use this match to compare Melee with Brawl since they will have both faced Modern Warfare, but I feel that last round really showed that GameFAQs doesn’t seem to care about the Call of Duty franchise any more. I know Perfect Dark was probably SFF by Majora’s Mask in the previous contest, but that’s not the only match where the games have underperformed. In every single match that included one of the Call of Duty games they have shown that they aren’t as strong as they once showed.

Even if Call of Duty 4 was the same game it isn’t like we had a clear reading on it. In the second round Brawl had Galaxy pulling it down while in the third the game got the short end of the stick between Metal Gear Solid 4 and Fallout 3 while Brawl was acting like a sore thumb. Of course had this been the same Call of Duty 4 had Melee broken 70% in this match we would be calling next round for Melee while now if it breaks 70% we would probably be laughing at Call of Duty 4.

I don’t think this match will tell us much about next round unless Melee decides to get less than 62% which was what Brawl got with Galaxy in the poll. I would take Modern Warfare over Modern Warfare 2, but at the same time Melee would have no problem against Kingdom Hearts. If Melee does end up breaking 70% I wouldn’t call it a lock, but personally I would feel pretty good if I was a Melee backer next round.

Going based on the expectations I've been seeing for Melee, I think it will disappoint tonight. I think it'll be doing well to get even 65%. Brawl got 62% with Galaxy in the poll last year, in a 24-hour match.

they're probably not that far apart and Melee is a clear step ahead of KH. I don't think Perfect Dark beats MW2, nor do I think PD could get 30% on Melee.
