Sonic Adventure 2 - Super Metroid (oh god no - how do you think this actually goes?)
Super Mario Sunshine - Star Fox 64 (how do you think this goes?)
The Legend of Dragoon - Pokemon DPP

If Street Fighter IV is held constant:

Uncharted 2 - Mass Effect
Halo: Combat Evolved - Donkey Kong Country

Looks like SFIV also got a boost, likely because of SSFIV and getting away from SSBB.

Also, Okami vs. GTA3: Who you got? Prime's not gonna finish too far off from HL2's percentage on GTA3.

Not really sure where the confidence in GoW is coming from. I'm a believer in ToS and all, but GoW needed a more decisive win than what it got there.

Also, yes, MM9 is now above DMC3 in the stats. Demon's Souls is less than a percent away, but it probably won't catch it.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if God of War did about the same GTA3 because GTA3 supposedly had its best possible nostalgic picture last round, or something.... that would prove doom to Metroid Prime, though. Hopefully GTA3 is as weak or weaker than the other GTA games; THEN Prime just might be able to pull through.

people still use 4 ways? didn't sotc>mgs2 piss all over that crap. LMS sure likes to waste his time. you could use that time to make better match pics. I would but my photoshop is buggered. WTF is that Metroid pic.

Also SBBallen or whatever his name is, will be biased towards FFX in all of it's matches. no way he will use Tidus only pic.

Yeah, there was a little game called Paper Mario in that poll, too.

I'm just throwing it out there. I'm not really sold on Okami's strength yet. Not saying it's weak, of course, but I'd struggle with picking it over GTA3, GTA's contest reputation or not. 3 looked the best to me this year.

Eh, I thought the LBP performance was pretty good, relatively speaking. Better than the crap San Andreas and Vice City put up on weaker opponents, that's for sure.

Besides, unless Prime puts a whoopin' on HL2, we're going to end up with Okami and GTA3 close in the stats anyway...!

I feel the same way. That's why I picked GTA3 to beat it without much concern.

The PS3 Ratchet games are definitely stronger than the PS2 ones though, that's for sure.

Going by 4-way stats through MGS3, I would say HL2 needs to break 52.5% on God of War to be the favorite in a neutral match. Since Prime had Okami during the night though...maybe bump that up to 53%.

Very much doable.

I mean come on, God of War is projected to get like 54% on Resident Evil 5, in a contest where 2009 games have been bombing left and right. Don't tell me that RE5 is somehow an exception.

RE5 being worth over 40% on HL2 is one stupid heck of a joke. At least it gives more credence to RE4 > FFX.

Analysis

There seems to be a lot of talk for an upset though personally I don’t see it happening. I know for a fact that a lot of people would have taken both Vice City and San Andreas over Grand Theft Auto III before the contest and since God of War defeated San Andreas while Half-Life 2 struggled to win over Grand Theft Auto III there should be a chance for an upset. Of course opinions change throughout the contest, but people shouldn’t be too relaxed about this match.

I’m not sure if it is due to the contest being called Game of the Decade, but it does seem that Grand Theft Auto III may be the strongest game of the series. In my opinion the game’s win over LittleBigPlanet was more impressive than what San Andreas and Vice City did to Dead Space and Silent Hill 2 respectively and while you could argue that Golden Sun is strong there is almost no excuse for the performance Vice City pulled against Resident Evil 4.

God of War seems to be the same game that we saw last contest though this time it was able to defeat Tales of Symphonia though it was rather unlucky that it ended up being stuck up against Tales of Symphonia during the night, it could have been much worse. Being stuck against familiar foes could be a bad thing since it is possible that the entire four-pack was overrated. For one thing Oblivion hasn’t looked the greatest and we already know what happened to San Andreas.

I can understand why very few people are going for the upset since I find it hard to believe that Half-Life 2 could lose, but at the same time I wouldn’t be surprised if it ended up losing. If we compare the two Left 4 Dead games Half-Life 2 should get around 65% though I believe that the original game is stronger so obviously the match will be closer. Personally I think the game will finish at around where Grand Theft Auto III finished.

Solid prediction percentage for Metroid Prime. It was only a bit short of Fallout 3's prediction percentage. -27 brackets and better managed to stay above 90. It's more or less a normal chart.
