the problem is, black still blends in with half the characters' outfits. I'd probably be best off going with something like yellow, red, or orange, but I have a feeling it would clash horribly with the rest of the picture.

Well, since I'm cheap, I'm using GIMP, rather than Photoshop. That said, I couldn't figure out how to outline the text. I wanted to, but I couldn't for the life of me find any guides for it that weren't for older versions of the program.

TF2 or DMC3? This has FO3 getting around 67% on TF2, and MP got 64% on DMC3... I'd take DMC3, but not by a lot.

The three games are probably very close together (something I wouldn't have considered pre-contest), but right now I have to think this is kinda dooming for Fallout 3's chances. 2009 games have looked bad all contest, and yet here comes Batman breaking 40% on a 1 seed (both Fallout and Batman are day-oriented games, right?). And I have to think that if Prime can't break 60% on Okami it's doomed against HL2. GTAIII would likely beat Okami with room to spare. Okami likely isn't that strong. Games from the 2004-2006 division seem to have been overrated in the stats...oh wait that's the rationale I used for SotC having no chance at MGS2, and look what happened. Whoops.

If HL2 gets past Prime it has a very good shot at Fallout 3, what with that being a night match and HL2 being the "smart voter" choice. Prime would likely win that over both games though. Without Metroid Prime you may not have games like BioShock and Arkham Asylum. It helped popularize the "adventure shooter" (aka the shooter which is more about things other than shooting).

I think the entire site was affected. For a short period of time, I kept getting a white page that said "Internal Error - Please try your request again later." whenever I tried to load up any page on the site. Because of that, it was nearly impossible to vote. A few people got their votes because as a result of constantly trying to vote until they managed to get through without the site giving them an "Internal Error" page.

Analysis

I know Uncharted 2 was the guru favourite, but I’m still surprised at the amount of people that think Uncharted 2 still has a chance to win. Then again if Halo wanted to it could choke this match away. While Halo hasn’t been anything special in this contest Uncharted 2 has yet to show that it is capable of defeating Halo.

While we expected Legend of Dragoon to not be terrible fodder Uncharted 2 still performed pretty badly on the game. Sure it won the vote-in, but pretty much every game in that poll was crushed. The silver lining I guess is that with Ninja Gaiden it is suggested that the match would be close. You also have last round where Uncharted 2 got 54% on Street Fighter IV which just came from struggling against Sonic Adventure 2. For Uncharted 2 to win would suggest that Sonic Adventure 2 would be stronger than Super Mario Sunshine and while Sunshine isn’t the most popular Mario game I don’t see it losing to a Dreamcast game that was ported to the Gamecube.

You can argue that Uncharted 2 has been stuck in night matches against night games, but then you have to remember that Street Fighter IV was stuck against Sonic Adventure 2 in the day and the fact that Uncharted 2 isn’t that strong of a day game if you remember the GotY poll I don’t think the percents would have made that much of a notable difference. It also doesn’t help that the game is going against Halo during the day.

Like I said Halo could pull off its traditional choke and lose this match, but I’m hoping the game won’t do that. Halo 3 was able to avoid it against Super Mario Sunshine so I expect a similar performance here. This is the first pick where my guru bracket is really in danger though that’s only because I have some unpopular picks in the future.
