I was rooting for you. Sorry to see it crash like this, but take
something from it and learn from your mistakes. Also, hooray
battle-leaderboard. I can enjoy the Lusterboard a lot more now that
it's not board-blocking me. So, how close can Oblivion get next round to LoZ:WW? We've seen pretty much everything relevant to the argument aside from LoZ:MM/GSC and FO3/Batman:AA (assuming FO3 and Oblivion have a relationship), and it's not like either match would be a good analogy for LoZ:WW/Oblivion anyway. love making match-pics for games I can play on my computer; I much
prefer hunting out my own snapshots to edit than GIS'ing games. Between
that and having not played THAT many games in this contest (don't enjoy
pic-making for games I lack a relationship with), I've barely done any.
My Perfect Dark one was rejected, so now I'm kinda counting on either a

So,
how close can Oblivion get next round to LoZ:WW? We've seen pretty much

not like either match would be a good analogy for LoZ:WW/Oblivion
anyway. It would be pretty hard to believe that Fallout and Oblivion don't have a connection, since they're so dang similar. I fully agree though, that those two matches will tell us very little about WW v. Oblivion. For Oblivion to beat WW, TTYD would need to beat AC2 with a lot of room to spare. I'm not sure TTYD would beat AC2 at all. --- DFF |

After
adjusting Oblivion down in the x-stats (it was likely overestimated as
it was measured through a match where MGS3 nearly matched RE4), it is
getting almost exactly as expected on TTYD, based on the inferred
x-stat of Gears of War. Okay, as we head to Round 3, we know that Kingdom Hearts/2 is debatable, along with GSC/Majora's Mask. What other match do you think is the most LIKELY upset to occur? --- "Ah, a party! We haven't had one of those. So...what is a party?" "Well, you drink punch and eat CAKE! ...I think." |

after tomorrow's matches we'll be able to say something definitive about 2009 games. so far I'm going this way: 1. Assassin's Creed 2 2. Batman 3. Dragon Age 4. Uncharted 2 5. Resident Evil 5 6. Nah, TP/DA was more TP being legit than Dragon Age being really bad. I'm not sure I'd take any game in this contest apart from the big three over it. yeah,
I don't think there's much of a difference there. if we were doing
percentages on OOT, AC2 would be at about 25 and Borderlands at maybe

Match XCVII: (1) Fallout 3 vs. (5) Batman: Arkham Asylum Last Round Fallout 3 – 74.27% Deus Ex – 25.73% Batman: Arkham Asylum – 59.52% Team Fortress 2 – 40.48% Analysis We’re back to the top of the bracket for the third time. Fallout 3 has been brought back down to Earth though the game should still be the favourite to reach the semi-finals while the same happened to Batman showing that crushing fodder games does not make you strong; it makes the game that you crushed weak. There was a few people that thought this match would be close since they thought Arkham Asylum would be a Batman proxy and since that’s not the case there isn’t much to discuss in this match. I do feel that Batman won’t exactly be crushed and while some people are down on it for it not breaking 60% on Team Fortress 2 I do feel that the board is underestimating the game. The game does have reason to be stronger than what it showed us last contest and we shouldn’t bring up almost losing to Fable since we don’t know where Fable ranks. After two rounds of crushing Fallout 3 finally gets a decent opponent. pretty obvious to me! NSMB Wii sold like 6m here, Dissidia more like
150k. NSMB Wii crushed the Wii GOTY poll while Dissidia couldn't do as
well against a pathetic PSP poll. NSMB Wii gets talked about a lot more

know, I've been so wishy-washy about Uncharted/Halo that I realized
that there's a good barometer coming right up! If Batman impresses
against Fallout 3, then Uncharted's good to go, but if it disappoints,
