SFF (Same Fanbase Factor) - Same Fanbase Factor is the theory that, if two contestants share a common fanbase, the weaker of the two options will underperform in a direct matchup. For instance, Link was expected to defeat Ganon with 65% of the vote in 2004, based on their 2003 values. Instead, Link collected near 88% of the vote. This is the best example of SFF we've ever seen. However take some SFF labels with a grain of salt, as many people will slap it onto any match that doesn't make perfect sense.

Extrapolated Standings - The mathematical "strength" of a contestant that's determined based on their performance relative to the rest of the field. This number is typically based on the contest entrant's loss, but adjustments are sometimes made. See above for a watered down explanation for how the stats are calculated.

MGS4 is a beast and beat Diablo II easily last night. Recall that Diablo II beat Wind Waker last games contest. Also, GSC barely broke 40% on Xenogears. Also, MM is fodder. Quite frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if Mario Kart Wii won that god-forsaken division

I'm in the same boat actually...but my logic was that MGS2 is by far the least-liked of the series (from what i can gather) by even MGS fans...and it's not like it's actually getting blown out here, it's been a close match against a pretty high-class opponent.

I don't think this is a bad contest for Board 8. There are a lot of matches in this contest that we knew almost nothing about coming in (this being one of them; we really didn't have much knowledge on SotC before this contest and 2004 MGS2 didn't tell us soo much because Melee was severely underrated there for some reason.

Actually up until this match we have won every single round 2 match, in fact we destoryed the casuals by at least 15% in all, but two matches.

Golden Sun/San Andreas (only by 14%)
Halo/Halo 3 (we actually only barely won that one)

It's impossible to confirm Brawl > Melee. We can't really judge how the SFF will go. And Halo/Halo 3 should lean us in Melee's favor and KH/KHII should be very telling as well. (Of course, in my bracket I picked Halo :CE, KH, and Brawl, so what do I know?)
