It's just FFXII blowing chunks more than Portal being some elite game. Now
that I think about it, I think we're kind of seeing a trend here with
certain games in 4-ways compared to 1-on-1. A lot of games that are
considered to be "hated" are definitely doing noticeably worse 1-on-1
than they did in 4-ways. World of Warcraft, Final Fantasy XII, MGS2,
and maybe others. Those games definitely aren't looking anywhere near
as strong as they did in 4-ways. agreed, because 4 ways only bring out each game's biggest fans, and not their anti-voters. Very rarely in these contests do we see 4-ways where a big amount of people havent liked at least one of the games --- Currently playing: SC2, Civ 5 Next up: eh ; Awaiting: meh |

Yeah,
I don't think FFXII getting 44% on Diablo II sounds all that out there
to me. Diablo II might push a little more toward 60%, but it wouldn't
put a hurting on the game or anything. --- There are no foreign lands. It is the traveler only who is foreign. |

You
know, in the last contest, I was actually really shocked SotC beat
Gears of War. There was no chance it could win the match (RE4 and KHII
are both heavy hitters), but Gears is one of those casual shooters
that's supposed to thrive in 4-ways (See: Master Chief, CoD). I figured
if SotC could beat Gears in a match Gears was supposed to overperform

Well,
I think 60% on FFXII says more about FFXII being crappy and 45% on MGS4
says more about D2 being pretty strong rather than the other way

Heh,
MGS2 has had the single best hour of the match, but it's also the only

think lots of people are overrating the Final Fantasy name because of
pre-XI stuff. Final Fantasy post-X is trash here. XII is trash, Crisis
Core is trash, and Dissidia is trash. It's like Mario post-64. Final
Fantasy hasn't had a quality release in almost a decade (assuming you
think FFXIII is FF's Galaxy), relying on 'side' series to maintain
relevance. Why can't that hurt modern Final Fantasy games the way the
same thing has hurt Galaxy, especially since Galaxy has been far better

Well,
I don't think MGS4 would stand much of a chance against RE4 today, so I
dunno that Portal being near MGS4 means we have to worry about that.
Guess we'll see. --- The whole object of travel is not to set foot on foreign land; it is at last to set foot on one's own country as a foreign land. |

I think MGS4 would still get 45% at bare minimum against RE4, even if
it probably wouldn't win now, so depending on how much you think Portal

FF13's the most meaningful thing the series has had since FFX, yet it may not even be the RPG of the year here. The FF-series has lost some stock this decade, but really, that's no surprise. --- This sig-space should be replaced by any number of GameFOX-sigs I made to support Epona from LoZ:OoT to make the next Character Battle. |
