MGS2 will obviously win, by the way. It just won't look pretty at the end of the day and confirms it is sadly the weakest MGS main series game, and that's pretty unfortunate.

Like I said, Team Ico might very well be the new champion of the abysmal ASV.

Even if MGS2 gets out of this alive this is still a terrible performance. Knocks it out of contention against Prime, Galaxy, Portal, BioShock, and a whole slew of other games. Heck, Halo vs. MGS2 who've you got? Then again I've been arguing about how SotC would beat Halo now.

Both games are holding up excellently from a vote intake perspective, which I suppose suggests rallying on both sides.

I wrote a paragraph about the possible strength of Portal about four hours ago but no one responded to it. >.>

Basically I think it might well be a good bit ahead of MGS3 and very close to Twilight Princess. First people said "Gears of War 2 is awful" and backed it up with Paper Mario blowing Gears of War away, but now that Paper Mario might well get very close to MGS3 (based off their performances against WoW and MGS' poor contest), I think Portal is probably above MGS3 (I buy Gears 2 > Gears 1, but not so hugely as to think Portal wouldn't breeze past Paper Mario 2). Also, people have readily accepted "FFXII is awful 1v1"; but what if it isn't? It would mean Portal is only a little below '09 Twilight Princess based off what it got. That puts it in contention with RE4, and with the rallying power it has, I'd definitely give it an outside chance.

Though I'm not comitting to anything till TTYD/Oblivion, Portal/ME, and PM/MGS3 play out.

sotc is like the boondock saints. everyone I know is like 'this is the best thing ever you gotta watch/play it'. then I do. and it's not good. it's awful. and that is why they are cult games/movies.

Can MGS4 beat GSC/WW/MM as of now? Probably not. However, much of GameFAQs will soon be playing MGS4 for a second time which *should* give MGS4 the boost it needs to make the semis
