Forget FFXII/Portal as the x-stat buster; THIS is the x-stat busting match! Of course, we all knew the match would at the very least closer than the stats predicted, but still!

Oh, and despite GTA:VC killing Paper Mario in the last games contest, PM is easily stronger than GTA:VC now. =P I'd take WoW over Gears of War, btw. Gears would struggle to beat Animal Crossing.

That really depends on how much you take in 'lol WoW'.
I mean this IS the game that let Animal Crossing break 40 on it.

But it does make TTYD look to preform well.

However thinking that it'll win is essentially thinking TTYD > ToS.

Of course that's based on 4-ways stats which you can't really rely on now.

Analysis

Some people have been trying to hype up this match and I’m not sure why. Yes Metal Gear Solid 4 didn’t perform as well as we thought in a night match, but I think people are forgetting is that Assassin’s Creed was likely to have decent strength and while it doesn’t look good for the people taking Metal Gear Solid 4 to the semi-finals the game wasn’t favoured to reach there so that’s their problem. Diablo II did well in blowing away fodder last round.

I do believe that Diablo II can make this match respectful and is likely to break 40%. I guess if I pull some weird vote-in scenario I could make this match a nail-biter. It is kind of weird that the Metal Gear Solid games haven’t met our expectations while Solid Snake went and destroyed our expectations only a few months earlier. For Metal Gear Solid 4 I can sort of see why since the Playstation 3 has become more diverse making it seem less of the major Playstation 3 game plus as time passes since release a game usually gets weaker.

The people that have a Metal Gear Solid game losing in the quarterfinals must feel pretty good about their pick since the other games aren’t going to pull off the upset despite people’s claim that the games are weaker. I still think the jury is out on that one just because we haven’t seen a Metal Gear Solid game go up against something with proven strength until this match.

I don't think this is necessarily true. I think most games get stronger over the first couple years, as more people play them. I think the exceptions are games that were massively hyped and had long-term word of mouth that fell short of the hype.
