We're heading for about 45k vote for DR to win it needs to average about 50.6% of the vote. It's not a lot to ask, especially when it's making those kinds of cuts.

DR is the favourite until we start seeing it choke the ASV.

I doubt the lead will be under 300. The trend so far is that we see 15-20 minutes of stall, and then Persona seems to make one huge (50+) gain. So far, it looks to have stalled around ~320.

These are very promising trends for DR. Persona has only won the last 60 minutes by 2 votes. It's losing the current hour by 30 votes.

On a side note, I just checked the final results for RE4/VC...

Holy crap! RE4 seriously choked the night vote. This is definitely a blow to the RE4 > FFX upset. :(

Is there any consensus on Persona 4's likely fate? I don't feel good about it, but that's probably because I always feel terrible when my bracket/battle challenge is at stake in a close match.

Persona only gained 71 votes the 2nd hour, and is negative so far in the 3rd hour. I think I'd call DR the favorite at this point- the percentage of votes coming from the US is only going to increase the rest of the match, once when we hit the ASV, and again when Europe goes to sleep. I was going to do some geolocation projections, but the geolocation trend chart we have is for weekend/summer matches, so it wouldn't work. But we can do a very rough projection nonetheless:

Currently, our continent's are probably contributing something like this:

North America 73%
Europe 19%
South America 3%
Asia 4%
Oceania 1%

By the way, this distribution would give P4 51.55% as of when the continental numbers updated.

Then if the percentages on each continent stay the same through the end of the poll, and we end with:

North America 80%
Europe 12%
South America 4%
Asia 3%
Oceania 3%

Our projection is.....Persona 4 wins with 50.08%. So roughly speaking, from geolocation trends, we're looking at a very close match. If the ASV in North America favors DR though, it should win comfortably.

Dead Rising up to 52.3% in the US and 49.5% in Cali. Persona won't be able to count on any US region for respite (not unless DR chokes the ASV like the stuff of legends).

The only thing amuses me about DR's comeback is that if it succeeds it saves me from my agonizing debate over FFXII/Portal because it will have destroyed any hopes of me doing any significant in Battle Challenge and I could probably just set my goals to the much less difficult task of defeating Bacon. >_>

I like Dead Rising because it's a current-gen 3D action game that doesn't hold your hand out the gate - it ****ing kicks your ass. It has a veeeery steep learning curve and everyone who plays it gets humbled right away. Kinda rare to see that these days.

To be fair, Dead Rising was a bit of a technical accomplishment, and was one of the first 360 games to put the system on the spot (Oblivion's the other one). But it's let down by terrible controls and game design, even if there are few things more fun than running zombies over with a lawnmower.

I'd argue this, but not much. It's easily one of the best 8 games in the bracket.
