The
people who think Brawl sucked are not the minority at all. Also the
argument that a bad game can drag down other games in a series is just
dumb as hell. Like, you think Phantom Hourglass or Spirit Tracks will
affect Ocarina of Time at all? Oh and FF13 was a good game. People who say it sucked soooooo much and will hurt FFX are just assuming their opinions = what everyone else thinks. Doesn't work that way, and I kinda wish Lightning Strikes was here to give that numbers guy the business. That's his favorite thing to yell at people about. Of course we're just the stats topic and know nothing, it's not like we're not all in the upper parts of the 99th percentile after every contest or anything. --- "Dude, haven't you paid attention? Well im surprised Golden Sun did this well, even i thought the site would just peg it as "another JRPG that needs to be buried". The
point is, there's no significant difference in the number of people
that dislike FFXIII and the number of people that dislike Brawl. The whole argument is ludicrous anyways. Even if people LOATHED FFXIII it would have ziltch effect on FFX. Golden
Sun had some pretty strong PotD performances in recent years, which is
what put me over the top in going for it. These two in particular were

Andreas is looking like the turd of the contest so far, to be honest.
Not because it's losing to Golden Sun - I don't think GS is weak by any

think whatever comes out of the KH/TP mess is gonna have a REALLY low

wow
had no support last year and it has no support this year. one of the
consequences of not actually being a good game despite having a bunch
of people with low self esteem and too much free time addicted to it. |

Looks like the Lusterboard will come to a noble end after this match. Is FFX being noticeably anti-voted? Or maybe just has a horrid Power Hour like all non-Zack things Final Fantasy. Borderlands is probably more a day game, but looking at the morning vote and DSV, FFX looks like it was maintaining its percentage or increasing. With FFX's strong second night vote, it's possible the night match here didn't really even benefit it, which is strange. my
opinion with FFX is that it'll be alright.. I think. I remember FFX
really sucking early in 2004 (couldn't double FFTA, never forget) and
it still nearly beat Melee with what some people think is the most
unbalanced picture of the year. I just don't think that game has
universal acclaim, but people seem to really like it moreso than other
big games this decade. the Game of the Decade polls seem to confirm
this thought. there's plenty of reasons to be concerned about FFX, but I think that ultimately it'll be alright. it's a heavy underdog to Smash at this point, probably, but it probably will do alright and will beat RE4 with ease. --- xyzzy |

still don't think Animal Crossing would be 60-40'd by PM, so I don't
see why WoW's being considered so out of it in this. It beat Halo 2
comfortably enough in R1, beat ToS in R2 worse than GoW did in their
recent rematch, and broke 40% on MGS3 both times. AC was pretty popular
back in the day (beat SMS in two different polls with MP and didn't
lose to SMS too badly when MP wasn't there in another), and its sequels
were pretty much just extensions of the same game that still sold well.
I don't care to get into whether or not it's close to SMS today or
specifics like that, but AC made a bigger impact here than either
PM-game in this contest originally and I wouldn't be surprised if AC
outsold them either. I have no doubt PM beats AC, but Tidus gave us a bigger beating on a Katamari-opponent and I wouldn't count on Gears being strong to suggest PM:TTYD is legit either. Especially since Pokémon has been disappointment after disappointment this year. DPP didn't so look great in Round 1 against Metroid Fusion but performed well against FE:PoR in Round 2. Once again pointing to Metroid Fusion's vote-in performance and how handheld games have shown that they aren't as weak as we though they would be, it mya have been more Metroid Fusion having strength than DPP looking bad. RSE fell a bit short of what DPP did on SMG. It was a night match and RSE is supposed to be weaker than DPP. Nothing wrong there. GSC fell short of expectations against Advance Wars. Once again that can potentially be due to underestimating of non-Pokemon handheld games. It was still a blowout and something more reliable should be used. Looks like the Lusterboard will come to a noble end after this match. Doubtful. Almost all of the brackets around him will get the match wrong as well. San Andreas. Just wow. Between this stupidity, and how Fusion can
apparently threaten to defeat GTAIV, I think Prime is going to beat HL2
