If
I took my Top 30, Uncharted 2 and DA would both be in it. About 10 in
my Top 30 wouldn't be in the contest. That leaves around 19 games that
in this contest that might be better than DA or Uncharted 2. So...95%? --- DFF |

Also, I don't think this has anything to do with "the times". Uncharted 2 and Dragon Age are great games, but their genres aren't popular on Gamefaqs much and everyone already knows this. It wouldn't matter what year they were made honestly. --- :> |

Same wtih Batman in which 2 years ago pretty much most everyone except hardcore Batman fans expected the game to be mediocre trash. You can't expect U2 to go around whalloping OoT and smash bros just because it was an outstanding game last year. I'm
a little disgusted that slightly above-average games like the Kingdom
Hearts games are beating out hugely successful and undeniably better
games like Bioshock and Modern Warfare 2. If KHII wins game of the decade, it'll make the gamer community look like the immature "otaku" bunch we've fought so hard to be differentiated from. |

BioShock just got 44% on a game capable of hanging with RE4 and
Twilight Princess, and people are ranting about western games being

I'd
say the typical winner of a game of the decade on major sites like IGN
or Gamespot would be Half Life 2 or Halo. What Nintendo game really
would have a chance? Smash Bros doesn't get "Respect votes" like Link

Modern Warfare 2 however has no business being mentioned in the same sentence as either of those two games. MW2 is a horrible, completely broken crap game, with terrible spawns and unbalanced kill streaks, with a horrible online community, and with incredibly expensive and worthless DLC. Most of the modes on it are unplayable because of the spawn system. I hate this game with a passion. really looking forward to Persona 3 vs Final Fantasy IX. I know FFIX is
going to destroy it, but if P3 can at least get 20-30% on FFIX I'll be

don't understand the need to shed any type of image. Let people think

best chance a Nintendo game would have on IGN or Gamespot for GOTD
would probably be Galaxy. Which just furthers the confusion as to why

doubt Halo would win a similar contest on Gamespot or IGN. It would get
hit hard with anti-votes even if rallying isn't present. Resident Evil 4 would probably win that contest pretty easily, although I suppose MGS 3/4 or Half-Life 2 could put up a good fight. Most of the big name games here are from areas that GameFAQS disproportionately favors like Smash Brothers (Melee/Brawl), Zelda (Twilight Princess), or jRPGS (FFX/Pokemon). I doubt Galaxy would do any better. GameFAQS doesn't really like/dislike Mario anymore than any other gaming sites, console oriented ones at least. --- "Ahem! Can't really argue with that evidence for Gamespot I guess (although Resident Evil being weaker on Gamespot doesn't make much intuitive sense), but on IGN at least, RE4 has always shown up pretty high whenever they have reader lists of the Top 100, or at least it used to. --- "Ahem! Gamers love to say this, but they're lying to themselves or in serious denial. Don't misunderstand, I would LIKE my hobby to be more widely accepted as "normal" or what have you.
