Blargh,
not the biggest fan of ASCII topics in general, but that one was more
or less designed to be a fun meaningless quick hit to 500, rather than

Well,
I'm glad I didn't bank here! BioShock will definitely smack KHII around
a bit overnight, but all in all, both contestants should come out of
this match looking pretty good. I'm taking GTA on the principle that the last time something Golden Sun related smacked some fodder around, it got 60-40'd by a midcarder immediately afterward. This is the best argument I've heard for San Andreas so far. (Ulti's Pitchfork theory is an honorable mention. :P) --- CURRENT GOTY SCORE: 85 Can you smell what The Shock is cooking? |

KHII
will not come out of this looking pretty good. This is an
underperformance, and KH has a chance to pounce all over it against a
series that's looking like total ass in this contest. I'll still take

There
were a number of ASCII topics. I don't recall the particular one people
are talking about. They all seemed about equally crap to me :) Bioshock doing very well here. Wonder if KH will rise overnight and with the weekend day vote (normally KH is not good with the morning vote but it should be better than normal here). I thought Bioshock could do very well but I didn't expect it to get more than 43% though. Still think KH2 can get over 57%. Doesn't really say much for KH/KH2 IMO. I still favor KH by the same small amount I favored it by before this match. Bioshock is a tougher opponent than MW2. playing, I haven't seen a Chris vs Ulti clash of the titans. Whoever

not being overconfident at all. KH2 does not look impressive here, and
overnight it's going to get its ass kicked. Plus we've already seen
Halo 1 > 3 assist the "earlier games have a big advantage"
hypothesis, which can't be disproven until we see some countering

I'm
not sure that Kingdom Hearts set the same kind of standard that Halo or
Final Fantasy X or Melee set. It got a significant amount of backlash,
both for the Disney + Square concept, as well as for its controls; a
lot of people really hate the way the game plays, and it has a lot of
that gag-inducing overoptimism JRPGs are known for. In comparison, KHII had a much more mature tone and setting, feels more like a real Final Fantasy game than Disney fanfiction, and cleaned up a whole lot of problems the original had. If you look at future Kingdom Hearts games (358/2 Days, Birth By Sleep), you'll notice that they follow the formula set by KHII a lot more than the original. For a lot of people, Kingdom Hearts was the flawed first attempt, and KHII was the perfection of the formula, which is way different than Halo 3, which was just a technical improvement of the original. me impressed. I didn't think Bioshock would do that much better than
Halo 2. Not mad at all though since I think KH2 is a crappy sequel. I

Not too dark, seemed magical in nature to me. And I loved it. When I played KH2, I was extremely disappointed. They went all emo and "dark". It's not really mature, it's just meant to appeal to teens unable to realize a jumbled darker story is not mature in itself. It lost the magical Disney touch the original had by trying to be too serious and too moody. KH was the right formula to me and KH2 was KH going all FF8 emo on us. Extremely disappointing I must say. I mean, I know "lol IGN" and all, but it doesn't seem like KH2 took a "flawed original" and made it better. Bah. Exhibit B: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halo_1#Reception http://www.gamefaqs.com/poll/index.html?poll=4136 The original Halo also received plenty of backlash even among all its critical acclaim. For what it's worth, the game also was never able to make it far on a "Top 100 Games list" until 2005 (ironically I think GameFAQs' list was the first time Halo was in a Top 10!). On the other hand, many argued that Halo 2/3 were improvements on the original game at the time of release, but then both games faded away in the same amount of time Halo 1 took to build up a reputation. KH2 is probably the same case.
