I don't really think BioShock II boosted the original very much - more than anything, I simply think its reputation has gone way, way up since the last games contest. It received pretty strong reviews upon release, but they weren't truly stellar or anything; nowadays, though, The Shock is frequently considered to be one of the best examples of gaming as art. People definitely like it more now than they did at first.

I think the same holds true for Silent Hill 2, to a lesser degree, which could explain why it did surprisingly well against Vice City.

Another easy match and overall high prediction percentage. Once again the top 142 all get the match right. -19 and better stay above 90. It's a pretty normal chart.

Pokemon doesn't really get SFFd.

We haven't ever seen one of its weakest games against a Nintendo contest-elite, so don't rule it out yet. Today's probably the closest example of it we've seen yet, and SSBB reamed SMG before. Don't be surprised if DPP ends up breaking that "rule."

Personally, I think Kingdom Hearts might be stronger than RE4.
Well, it's more based on a gut feeling than anything but the way KH2 stomped Halo 2 was impressive and so was the 76% on a Castlevania game.
It's just that action games have been underwhelming in this contest. RE5 didn't perform well. We'll have to see its performance against a better opponent to actually gauge its strength.

MGS4 outdid RE4 by 5% last year. KH2 was always within 1% of it as well. MGS4 is likely stronger, KH2, it depends.
Like I said, wait and see. But RE4 has no indication of having a shot at FFX.

we still don't know who is stronger between KH/KHII. I would take FFX over brawl because of FFX being slightly older and being able gain more nostaligc votes. FFX definitely loses to Melee which came out the exact same year.

except for the fact that it's a 1v1 and FFX is going to be antivoted throughout the contest because of SSBallen having it to win the contest. More karma for more people. Though i do agree RE4 still doesn't have the strength, but it should never expect to beat it, i mean it's amazing how strong RE4 is in the first place.

If RE4 > FFX, then KHII needs to be a good deal stronger than KH. So unless that happens, I wouldn't think there's anything to worry about other than RE4 winning the board vote.

Analysis

On average 2009 games have perform terribly though a lot of people still have faith in Dragon Age. Not to win of course, but to put up a respectable performance. While I may feel that Dragon Age has a reason to buck the trend most of the 2009 games are heading using F-Zero GX as proof that it might not be weak isn’t the best idea.

While we have no reliable information on anything from the F-Zero series it is pretty obvious that the series is fairly low among Nintendo fans and I wouldn’t be surprised that most of its votes came from people that only know the series because of Captain Falcon and voted for it because they didn’t know or care about Dragon Age.

Like I said Dragon Age does have reason to avoid the same fate that other 2009 games had such as expansions packs being released over the year, a sequel to the game has been announced and being a type of game that people would visit GameFAQs to get help on. Either way Twilight Princess should have no problem breaking 60% in this match and could quite possibly push past a doubling should Dragon Age not be as strong as what people think.

normal people? there's probably qute a numebrof brackets but nothing significant, of course i'm talking about possiblities on how FFX could underperform againt it, most likely won't lose unless RE4 overperforms. I think it will have an effect on the PokemonGold Match tbh, FFX probably isn't losing to RE4 but it may lose to Pokemon.

Birth by Sleep probbaly boosted KH a tiny bit tbh...or at least KHII


oh and bioshock 2 wouldn't have boosted bioshock. the game was no way near as good as 1 with horrible multiplayer. It's no Mass Effect 2.

In all fairness, most of the post-SNES FF characters have been in Kingdom Hearts. It dropping could have affected them as well.
