I own this train. I actually took this. RE4 to the finals where it belongs. (...losing to...Brawl. and there are some Melee > RE4 gurus. sighhhhhhhhhhhh.)

Also it was no Xbox, but back in the day the Gamecube was pretty hated.

As I remember it, "kiddy" was the old "casual".

Keep in mind, with all those people who have sold their Wiis because they didn't have enough legit games, a good number played Zelda first and THEN sold it. Just because they hate the Wii now doesn't mean they think of TP as a Gamecube game.

I'm just saying, people seem to have selective memories. And you seem to have a selective memory in thinking that people didn't get the Wii at first because you couldn't afford it and didn't want it.

I can't afford to get many games these days, but I'd be foolish if I thought other people didn't get Mario Galaxy 2.

I really wish RE4 was in either the top half replacing Prime.Way too many stronger games in the lower half. Needs to be balanced.

Admittedly, that was a poor analogy.

But the point is that people think "I was disappointed when it came out on Wii, most other hardcore gamers must have been as well" when it was a minority among hardcore. Among the majority of gamers, it was a Wii game, and that's how it should act in a contest.

But whatever, screw that.

Let's just troll 12 year olds by calling games kiddy.

Also I feel sorry that FFX will not win.That was a bad pick for me.Now though if RE 4 managed to win the whole thing it would make this site a little better...

I agree that people overrate Wii hate. No Wii games, aside from NSMBWii have looked weaker than they would be in theory or anything. Galaxy's "drop" is supremely overrated as well. It had LFF going both ways in all of its matches with Cod4, and basically went from probably beating CoD4 52-48 in 2007, to losing 48-52 to it in 2009.

Hardly a huge tumble, especially as CoD4 had reason to increase as it became more and more the multiplayer shooter de jour. It would still probably indirectly put up high 30's (at the very least 35%) against stuff like SMB3 or World, which isn't bad considering the huge legacies those two games have in their favor. People are letting their love for Galaxy get in the way of just accepting that GameFAQS has different tastes.

Assuming Melee and Brawl are equal, Morrowind would get 58.5% on VC. Morrowind is almost certainly the stronger game, but would it really win that handily? I'd say Brawl has the more impressive R2 performance, although it's hard to factor how big a role the day/night shifts has played.

Melee would do better on VC during the day though.

The problem i have with Brawl at night is Europe will probably favour Brawl. If it was a day match i woud say Melee wins comfortably

and that's how it should act in a contest.

But that's not how it will act. anyway enough of that.

Assuming Melee=Brawl, Morrowind/VC would be about 57/43, honestly (after taking into consideration melee's night match). However, we can't really make that assumption at this point in time. Who wins in the Melee/Brawl matchup will retroactively determine the strength of Morrowind and VC.

morrowind is stronger in the day too.

I'd say this round is even. last round was also even, probably, maybe a small edge to Melee. neither game has disappointed yet unless you had silly expectations.

next round is another Nintendo game vs. Brawl so we won't take much from that. Melee probably crushes COD4.

Man, there have been some dumb arguments and attitudes about this match (mainly looking at you, Ulti!). Pokemon, SSB, and Monkey Island seems to fuel some of our worst topics. Those and ASCII!

I'll give Brawl a narrow edge through R1 and Melee a somewhat-bigger edge through R2. CoD4 could lose worse to SSBM than it did to SSBB simply because CoD's acceptance here has gone down quickly lately, while Nintendo-on-Nintendo action is hard to ever fully trust so DPP/SSBB shouldn't tell us much either. Anybody guaranteeing a winner at this time (especially so obnoxiously, Heroic Common Sense) is out of tune with what it takes to be that certain on a match.

LoZ:TP's by and large a Wii-game that was originally intended to be a Gamecube-game. LS said it well:

Also let's face it, barely anyone played TP on the Gamecube here. Look at what the Wii does in this poll:

Guess what game made that happen.

It's not like the Gamecube would have amounted to crap in that poll, and the Wii-version outsold it 5:1. It also came first, I believe, so the only thing left is which system it was originally intended for...and I didn't realize developers couldn't change their minds before they release their product.

As someone who never had a Wii or a Gamecube I must say that I forgot TP even came out on the Gamcube, that's how strongly I associate it with the Wii. Also with the controls issue, does the game not allow you to just use a GC controller in the same way Mario Kart Wii does?

After that match, i have SA winning very comfortably against Golden Sun. Unless of course you compare G/S/Cs performance against Advance Wars against what GS did to it in a 2001 poll seriously.

Super Mario Galaxy – 74.79%
Beyond Good & Evil – 25.21%

Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald – 50.77%
Grand Theft Auto IV – 49.23%

Analysis

Continuing our stretch of easy to predict matches we have a match where a small group of people think Pokemon RSE has a chance at winning. The main reason is that if you stretch the stats from last year you can have Grand Theft Auto IV winning over Super Mario Galaxy and since Pokemon RSE won that match it would have a chance.

The main problem, besides stretching four-way stats is that people assume that Grand Theft Auto IV is as strong as it was last contest which is not true as the game has reason not to be as strong as last contest. The main thing is that the game has become more forgotten among gamers which Niko Bellic showed us in the previous contest. Another thing is that Super Mario Galaxy defeated Pokemon DP last contest and I feel that game is stronger than Pokemon RSE since it came out at a time when Pokemon wasn’t well liked plus even among the hardcore Pokemon fans the game wasn’t well liked for various reasons. Even if RSE was stronger it would have to be significantly stronger in order to win.

I know Super Mario Galaxy was not worthy of its one seed, but the game is not as weak as some people think it is. Also while some people keep bringing up Wii hate in that it’s suppose to make the Wii games weaker between the Wii games that were in last contest I haven’t seen any notable underperformances yet.

If contest results have shown me one thing in the past, it's that Pokemon doesn't really get SFFd.

So this result either means that 1. Galaxy is legit 2. RSE blows 3. combination of both.
