The
only thing that surprises me about the result so far is the fact that
Conker's BFD is not far behind Prince of Persia. So, I guess PoP is
that weak, and that Call of Duty 4 has lost a step since its last
contests appearance. You could argue this to make Galaxy look worse, too. Maybe. *holds up RSE flag* Not that I have RSE winning, but hey. --- "Ah, a party! We haven't had one of those. So...what is a party?" "Well, you drink punch and eat CAKE! ...I think." |

Black Ops was never going to be a real contender for GOTY here, or at least no one actually treated it as one of the potential winners. Bunch of other games for FFXIII to worry about over Call of Duty -- though it is kind of funny that the series has become TOO POPULAR for GameFAQs or something. --- There are no foreign lands. It is the traveler only who is foreign. |

also, there's simply no question BK > BT. BK was often considered to
be in the league of SM64 from those who played it, while BT split the
fanbase so much and helped fuel the hate for collectathons. For what
it's worth, BK was also released in 1998 -- pretty easily the biggest

Isn't it even more popular than the first two Modern Warfare games though? Both of them were contenders. More popular? Well, it sold more out of the gate -- it's the best-selling Call of Duty one month in -- but there's always a gap, or at least used to be, between Infinity Ward COD's and Treyarch COD's. Black Ops was always most likely going to trend closer to World at War over Modern Warfare, though given how this site has taken to the series (even before today's match) I doubt it even did that well. Then again, multi-poll might prove different. --- A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step. |

recently replayed GoW1 and realized I hated it. s*** puzzles,
irritating combat, and is missing a lot of those little things I love
about the sequels(being able to go faster on ladders/walls, the
improved move set, the separate special attacks, more and better boss
fights, grapple swinging, being able to turn off the Rage of the Titans
mode, etc). --- And I certainly do not agree with my words being taken out of context. - Vlado |

my GAWSH I just realized this account is riding on 30,000 battle points
right now! I had not checked this account in quite some time. Call of
Duty, you'd better not lose!!!! =O I might bank on Galaxy/RSE.... I'm kinda worried about that match actually since I'm not convinced DPP is stronger than RSE now. BUT, I think I will go straight through it because an RSE victory would be, like, my favorite upset since Sephiroth vs. Snake! So, I think I will bank on Golden Sun/San Andreas. CoD4
is the Cod, the flagship, it's one of the most impressive FPS games
we've ever seen in polls, and it performs like that on poor old miss
Dark. Being the spiritual successor means jack, too many games work on a case by case basis, this is just an FPS capitalizing on a bomb. --- Nyoro~n |

From: voltch | #396 Maybe so, but it was a beloved N64-game all the same and CoD:BO has recently smashed Halo 3's numbers...and we've seen what Halo 3 did before. CoD4 isn't CoD:BO, but it's undoubtedly getting some kind of advantage from that. After this and seeing BT against MGS2, we should accept PD/BK were SFF'd in BGE2 and reconsider them as games with potential again. I think that much is fair, even while considering CoD's a target for anti-votes nowadays anyway. --- Epona: your #1 bet to cause great/terrible upsets in CB9. |
