For
one thing, Fallout 3's genre and type of gameplay simply leads me to
believe that it should be that type of game. For another thing, Fallout
3 wasn't as well received as GTAIV and MGS4 in the first place, but it
just seemed to grow over time compared to those two which dropped off.
It received all the GotY honors and frequently placed high in GotD

Fallout
3 was huge, no way it can almost win the GotY on GameFAQs in 2 months
if it wasn't. Even in the last game contest it looked as if it lost a

I change to God Of War at the last time.I thought TOS would win since
it is an RPG with a decent fan base.Still the match was close.Now the

LinkMariSamus, there are two huge, gaping holes in your logic. 1. Character strength =\= game strength. It's not uncommon for strong action characters to pull more weight than their games. Conversely, more times than not, RPGs are stronger than any of their individual characters. 2. You're basing your entire argument about this division on the assumption that ToS is weak (ToS is weak, therefore GoW is weak, etc etc), when it could simply be an overperformance due to being an older JRPG, which the trends in this contest thusfar would suggest to be much more likely. --- PSN - Aevio Playing: Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes |

In response: -I AM operating under the assumption that both DMCs are fodder/low midcarders. I still do not think that DMC3 would lose to Sands of Time, LittleBigPlanet, Ico, Dead Space, Silent Hill 2, or Ninja Gaiden. Way too weird. -ToS struggled to get 53% on RESIDENT EVIL 5. too weird. Yeah, I don't see DMC losing in those matchups either. We're kinda scraping the barrel against those games, and I think the DMC series is at least high fodder. I wouldn't take it to lose against Gears anyway. -ToS struggled to get 53% on RESIDENT EVIL 5. That's weak no matter how you put it. In a night match, which after seeing ToS/GoW, I'm convinced worked against it. Were it a day match, I think the ASV would have pushed it easily into the 45/55 zone. That said, that's why I said "overperform." I have the distinct feeling that JRPGs, in general, are performing stronger in this contest than they normally would. Predictions for Next Two Divisions in R2: Super Smash Bros. Melee > The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind Call of Duty 4 > Perfect Dark Pokemon Platinum > Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance Super Smash Bros. I'm
not altogether convinced that having a sequel come out on the day of
the poll is really going to be a huge benefit for Golden Sun. I mean,
you can argue about how popular it is, but outside of an "upcoming
release" poll from last year, there's really nothing to hint at GS
actually being that strong. Hell, in a Nintendo poll a few months ago, it only barely edged out Fire Emblem by .13%. Also Greyfeld, it seems like you were trying to agree with me. I agreed with most of what you said, I just felt like you were underselling GoW due to the performance put up by ToS, when there are other possibilities to be considered besides "it's weak." Don't get me wrong, GoW has proven that it's no higher than midcard material. That's kind of its ceiling, honestly. GS
only has 2 handheld games on the friggin GBA. FE has about half a dozen
games and console iterations on Wii and Cube. The fact that it even
beat FE is quite impressive. Plus the actual games have sold more than
any FE game. GS was hugely popular during the time it came out, it was one of those games for GBA peopel played because there was nothign out on the system and it became quite popular. FE:PoR won during the day, but it was against No Mercy, so I don't think that counts. Both KH games won during the day (if I remember correctly, they also have great ASVs). I think the point is, JRPGs aren't necessarily strong at night. Each franchise seems to have its own trend. I think that people were saying Golden Sun is a day game. Again,
TWEWY is niche and it still lost a night match. LoD, by virtue of being
a PS1 RPG, should have had a huge edge but still lost fairly handily to
