I flipped my Super Smash Bros. Melee disc, and that's what the result told me. It's a Melee disc, so it's obviously reliable. It hasn't been wrong yet.

Analysis

This is a rematch of a first round match of the last contest and despite that match ending extremely close a lot of people including myself feel that while it will feel threatened God of War probably won’t be in any danger of losing. The board loves Tales of Symphonia and I know many people would give up two points just to see it pull the upset.

One of the main things that caused a lot of people to flip towards God of War was the performance of Tales of Symphonia last round. It struggled to defeat Resident Evil 5 by a lot and when you consider what God of War 2 did to the game you can see that Symphonia may be in trouble. Given what we saw over the round I’m quite surprised that God of War 2 won that match so easily, maybe Wind Waker is strong or maybe the vote-ins don’t mean much.

The main reason why I took God of War was last year Tales of Symphonia was just barely able to win and was actually losing after the first 12 hours under what I consider to be a favourable scenario for Tales of Symphonia. Before the match last year people commented on how much Tales of Symphonia stood out and its true Tales of Symphonia was the most different game in that match while the other three were marketed towards similar audiences. It doesn’t have to be big, but it does guarantee that Tales of Symphonia will get less than 50% of the split from San Andreas and Oblivion.

God of War 3 has come out earlier this year, but I don’t think it would give the original a decisive boost. I could see this turning into a non-debated win should everything go right, but I think it will be more likely that Tales of Symphonia would put up a fight. Then again I keep looking at its performance last round and for a game that we have no idea what its strength was I was not impressed.

Oh man i remember how hectic that 4 way matchup was. One of the most intense matches we had, no one thought TOS would go toe to toe against GOW.

Now that this is one on one, people seem to favor GOW as the one to win. But who knows, all holy hell might very well break loose again.

The truth is, it was developed for the Gamecube.

Yeah. We know it was developed for Gamecube. And Halo CE was developed for Mac + PC.

That doesn't mean **** to most gamers. Most gamers care what it eventually came out on and what they played it on.

TP is definitely a Wii game, and was the biggest Wii game when Wii was at it's peak demand. It may have been a GC game at heart, but there's no way anyone who is not a huge videogame nerd would know that. In the majority's mind, TP is a Wii game that was brought over to the GC.

GC version is the Canon version. Link is a lefty in it, while Link is a righty in the Wii version. Thus, the GC version is the official version

if you take a poll asking which version people played, I would bet the majority would say wii. TP may be a Cube game at heart, but most people think of it as a Wii game.

There was a gap of months between the versions of RE4, and the GC version was the one that was hyped. Not to much with TP.
