Europe and Asia with the good taste tonight.

Europe has a chance at switching back over to Metroid Prime later on since there are very few votes from Europe right now. If that did happen, Metroid Prime would barely win Europe at best. DMC3 will definitely be a lock to win Asia though.

Metroid Prime lost over 5% between 20 minutes and the 12-hour mark against Star Ocean. I didn't realize MP had that much of a power start. Hopefully it won't be as bad this time.

That match absolutely destroyed the battle challenge leaderboard. It makes me feel a little bit more at ease to bank at GoW/ToS if I feel like it.

i feel this is either a good performance by MP or DMC3 being overrated. Then again i always thought DMC3 was overrated as hell compared to the first one

Yeah, I don't see anything outside of the ordinary here, not after that disastrous first round. DMC3 sucks, no surprises there.

it's a little bit better than NG. Prime over Halo would still hold, but not by a lot.

Looking for an impressive performance from Metroid Prime tonight- the trend is of pre-Wii Nintendo games doing well so far.

I doubt that one, especially in a night match which Metroid Prime sucks with the night vote and DMC3 is very good with it. I don't trust Metroid Prime to overperform when the trends will hold it back from looking impressive. DMC3 is very good in Asia and Europe. Metroid is bottom of the barrel in Asia's Nintendo hierarchy, while it's just bad in Europe.

Metroid Prime does about 3% worse in Europe, although Star Ocean probably isn't the sort of game that would be popular in Europe in the first place. DMC3 performs almost 6.5% better in Europe.

I don't know about Metroid itself, but the interesting thing about Samus is that she's just about the most neutral first 12 hour/second 12 hour character out there from the analyses I've done. She has similar geolocation trends to Metroid, but because the Power Hour is so much more important than the overnight vote, she manages to be just as good in a "night" match as a "day" match. Her %age at noon tends to be very close to her %age at the end, and can be either above or below.

Of course as everyone is saying, Metroid Prime should fall a lot from here because the franchise is very Power Hour unbalanced with a bad overnight vote - but that does not necessarily mean it would do any better in the day vote against a "neutral" game, in terms of final percentage. I most most of us would guess DMC3 was night vote biased, so its final percent should be a bit inflated, as lowly as it will be anyway.

Let's keep in mind that DMC gets the big night match bonus here. Prime has another night match against Okami as well, so it'll be undervalued twice before it meets Half-Life 2. I doubt HL2 will be similarly disadvantaged in its two day matches.

HL2 is worse in the day than Prime is at night. Prime is, as cn said, pretty even throughout. HL2 though is a massive night game. check that L4D poll to see proof.

Not saying this is wrong, as Star Ocean certainly seems like it should be a night game. But geolocation results like this don't necessarily show something is day or night biased. Again, if you took Samus' geolocation results, you'd think she was a day character. She isn't - she's as neutral as they come.

Don't know for sure if Metroid is just like Samus, but I doubt it's much different.

Hooooly cow did the leaderboards get decimated. Congrats to KFChester, who will almost certainly be winning the battle contest. The contest is over half over, and the rest of the bracket is going to be much, much harder to predict correctly than the first half, which means the odds of anyone building up a huge streak are virtually nil.

I've been saying Red XIII would be very strong for years and years. Perhaps the strongest character that has yet to make it. I always thought he'd be a bit stronger than Cid, actually.
