you mean last time where TF2 had like 53.5% at the freeze and won by 27 votes with rallying? Last time, TF2 was the bracket favorite in a match against the genre with one of the worst board votes (wRPGs) on a console with the worst board vote. It's now the bracket underdog (on the board, that is. It's probably pretty close to Batman overall), and in a genre that also doesn't fare that great with the board vote. --- "Ahem! So
does Valve have a huge presence on this site or what? From what I
gather TF2 is one of their more beloved games, and much more current,
yet people expect HL2 to dominate when we haven't heard of that game

Life 2 looked legit last contest, this can't be denied. It beat a
mainline FF title (something that woulda never happened during the GFNW

Half-Life
got 45% on Metroid Prime back in 04 IIRC. The games themselves have
always been popular. However, an FPS protagonist was always doomed to
look bad in the Character Battle, and even then HL2 did wonders for

I don't think it has changed so drastically though. Gordon Freeman went from losing to Duke to easily winning over him between The Orange Box release. He went equal with Scorpion in the following year. Even last year he got 38% on Tifa.
